PREFACE
This book is the result of the FIELD STUDY students of
Dipolog City Institute of Technology for their long time of
exposure and experience in the field of education.
Field Study is an essential requirement for the education
student. Many educators nowadays agree that a great number
of good teachers depend upon a good foundation of education
because the latter often times get good ideas on how to become
an effective teacher based on their observation.
The content of this test is simply from those students who are
inspired and satisfied of their field study service in their
respective classroom assigned. The complete seventeen hours of
field study makes the students be totally aware of the field
which we are about to intrigue soon.
The field study students wished to express their appreciation
for the assistance and support we have received from commons
of staff and colleagues presently connected for the successful
completion of the humble work of the FS1 students.

SUGGESTED ACTIVITIES
SPECIFIC TASK
As I enter the Estaka Central School wherein I spent my
Seventeen hours of studying the field of teaching, I appreciated the
school environment, it has friendly environment for children. The
entire school arrangement of different school facilities available at
the school is very convenient for the pupils and the people involved
in it.
My first day of entering the classroom assigned to me was
quite a mix of excitement adding up the tension at the atmosphere
because of consciousness but upon entering the school, it was such a,
relief! The classroom environment was impressive it reminded me of
my previous years in my elementary days. The classroom has the
complete learning facilities and effective to learning. There are so
many things that I learned toward on the teacher’s approach, the
pupils and the classroom environment.
As I observed, the pupils are active in class discussion they
easily catch up what the teacher teaches them, they are energetic.
My critique teachwelcomed us w/ a friendly smile and I easily
get used of her friendly approaches on us and on her pupils as well.
What impresses me is the way she teachers, her strategies and the
use of Lapel in order for her to be heard and understood.
LEARNING EVIDENCE
 The classroom is the “marketplace of ideas”.
 The pupils have diverse background and some of them don’t
easily get friends w/ other specially those who are shy type.
 The classroom is well arranged. The Alphabet letters are well
posted in front the posters and other pictures of different
heroes are also seen posted at the wall.
 There is a Television in front of the classroom to be updated in
whatever things the teacher uses in their lesson.
 A comfortable and clean comfort room is present. Their
classroom is well-ventilated with good scented and a wellarranged Health corner.
 The teacher explained well and feed the students w/ good
and appropriate lessons based on the subjects they discussed.
She was lapel for her voice to be heard well load and clear.
 There is a good interaction between the pupils and the
teacher, the teacher entertains questions and that is a proof of
the learning evidence that the pupils are listening and learning.
 I observed a large member of students can cope up well in
their class because of their willingness and the good approach
by their teacher.
DOMAIN
 My cooperating teacher uses the domains in her teaching she used
the cognitive domain when she posted questions at the board and
let the children those questions before giving the lessons to be
answered afterwards.
 After that she reads a certain story connecting in relating the pupil
to the story she red for them.
 That is the attractive domain.
 Then finally, she let the pupils answer the questions and later on,
she evaluate by questioning them
 I observed that the Grade 1 pupils don’t need much because they
still in the stage where to develop the knowledge not to execute
them.
 I observed that the pupils have good moral values because they
are behaving well although they are naughty sometimes when not
seen by teachers.
COMPETENCIES/PERFORMANCE INDICATOR
 The meaning, after the flag ceremony the teacher asked the student
to form their line and use their rag shoes one by one to avoid the
dirt inside the classroom.
 Then she let a certain pupil to lead the opening prayer then an
action song.
 The teacher started the lessons. She encourages the pupils to
participate in class discussion.
 She used different strategies. She uses her sense of order to let the
student laugh and angry.
 The children listens and answers when ask by the teacher.
 I can say that they have a good relationship in them because of the
familiarity and the respect as well.
OBSERVATION REPORT
My first day of observation stated on August 13 in Estaka Central
School where I met my Critique teacher Mrs. Luane Cantery of Grade 1
section Pipit classroom. As an observant student, I learned many things on
the time I enter the classroom such as the good classroom and time
management just what my cooperating teacher do. The classroom is a
cozy environment for the pupils it is not an obsolete classroom but other a
modem and fashionable classroom. Thefollow of their everyday
classroom routines was remarkable for its lessons and time management.
There are different individual differences that the students have the
teacher is able to handle the diversity of the student. When the pupils
wants to answer, they just raise their and right hand waiting for the
teacher to recognize them. Moreover, the teacher’s ability to teach and
instruct the pupils was quite effective based on the reactions of the
pupils. The teacher never discourage the pupils learn but give them an
inventive advice for them to learn.
I observed that in managing a classroom, as a teacher, we are the
manager. We are the one responsible of the students and we need to
dedicate ourselves in our profession. I testify that teaching is not just
merely to on teaching the pupils but also devote themselves the way the
parents entrusted their children’s future to us, teacher.
Therefore, I conclude that being a teacher is not an easy task, it
constitutes many circumstances concerning the profession we choose
knowing that is the noblest profession of all

SUGGESTED ACTIVITIES
SPECIFIC TASK
The Estaka Elementary School has a complete facilities as their learning
environment provide that the needs of energy students.
They have well organized classrooms in every grade level, and green
plants in front of each room.
The libraryhas plenty of books and open every time for the student and
teachers for references. They have play ground that socialized though
interaction towards their follow.
They also have a canteen that has plenty of delicious and nutritious that
caters student appetite, during recess time. As what I have notice they have a
clean surrounding that really fit for students needs.
LEARNING EVIDENCE
The Estaka Central School Where I was assigned is a child friendly
school because I’ve seen their friendly students, towards their co students or
school mates, also their teacher are very approachable at friendly and
understanding to the concern of their pupils.
The main learning evidence is the classroom because it is the “place
of new information”. It is where the pupils are developing their skills and
talents.
As what I’ve observed in the classroom, there are many posters and
pictures that help the pupils in their learning.
DOMAIN
Learning enviroment is very important in learning, without this the
learning process would be slowly and incomplete and it also help the teachers
and learners feel their existence and comfortable.
This provides and develops their social, physical and psychological.
Their school clinic is available for the sureness and safety of students
regarding health problem.
A guidance counselor is needed for social and emotional problem.
COMPETENCIES/PERFORMANCE INDICATOR
In classroom interaction, there are many competencies that the children
undergo. One of those is the way the teachers grouped the pupils and later
on let them perform the task assigned to them to test their thinking ability.
The teacher then gives a written examination to the learners to know if
they understand what she is teaching.
The teacher shows the learners the way to comprehend and understand
what she is reading when they are on their reading activities.
In reading activities, I observed that the learners are eager to
participate in the question and answer portion.
OBSERVATION REPORT
As what I observed in Estaka Central School, on my first day of my
duty, I was fascinated by their learning environment. Their canteen,
playground, library and classrooms are all properly managed.
Upon my duty, I observed many things especially on the way the
teacher uses approach in teaching her pupils.
In their canteen, they are selling fruits, delicacies, viands and many
more which are affordable. The library is well ventilated with good
books that are properly arranged.
The teacher is using tactics that can very useful and effective in the
teaching of the students. The only problem is the noise inside the
classroom because all learners want to participate so they answer in
chorus.
As a teacher, we really need to do our best in teaching the
students.

SUGGESTED ACTIVITIES
SPECIFIC TASK
Based on my actual observation the pupils are mostly need more
advice from their teacher’s, especially in training and disciplining them
how to behavve during class discussion, they are very currious in
everything some are talkative, friendly, bully, quite etc.
Grade I pupils are enthusiasm though others are noisome. Some students
are not following the instructions of the teacher.
The classroom as what I observed is always clean, there are many
flowering plants outside and this are arranged properly.
LEARNING EVIDENCE
Each has individual differences, some are active and some are not,.
Some are fast learner average and slow, you can see to it how they
interact during class participation or oral.
Students are diverse, some students excel well on written while
others are on oral or drawing. In that case, the teacher uses multi task in
teaching. She lets the other write while the other draw base on what she
assigned them.
DOMAIN
The diversity of learners are the fast learner, average learner and
the slow learner . This is because they are mold in different cultures and
homes.
Each learner has different characters and needs. In attitudes moral
values some has and some don’t have and this need to be provided by
the teachers like giving them advice, training in different kind of activity
or work.
COMPETENCIES/PERFORMANCE INDICATOR
In the pupils-teacher interaction, I noticed that the learners are
smart and very willing to learn. They listen very well and it shows to their
facial expression that they are interested in listening.
At the end of their discussions, the teacher evaluates the learners
whether they understand everything she taught. Some children got low
scores while many of them got high scores.
The teacher also let the pupils read in front to determine if they can
read well.
I observed that in order to make the pupils be competitive, the
teacher must teach them according to their interest.
OBSERVATION REPORT
On my first day inside the campus, I was mesmerized by the clean
environment and the facilities as well as the respectful pupils who
greeted me when I passed on them.
When I enter the classroom, I observed that the displays are good
but there are lacking displays that is needed especially a clock because
teaching how to read a clock is eventually difficult.
The teaching strategies of Mrs. Anne Bandico are impressive. It is
really effective because when she evaluates the learners, they all got
outstanding remark and grades.
I therefore conclude that as a teacher, we must be knowledgeable
enough to understand the pupils. I am very enthralled by the teacher and
her teaching abilities. She is a teacher in all aspects.

SUGGESTED ACTIVITIES
SPECIFIC TASK
I have seen during the field study that while the teachers is discussing
some are talking, writing drawing and playing only few who are paying focus
to divert their attention the teacher used her different strategies for her
listeners to listen and focus.
The teacher is able to manage the pupil’s diversity. I was able to see
the good effects of an effective teacher that create a bond between herself
and the learners.
Almost all pupils in the classroom I was assigned was all have similarities
in behaviors. They are curious and eager to learn.
LEARNING EVIDENCE
I have seen that during quiz to evaluate if they understand the topic
well some get perfect and some get good score. Some didn’t really
understand well.
The classroom which I was assigned is quite a place where the pupils
open their inclinations.
The teacher however, teaches gaudily, she is informative and fair in
teaching. She is doing her duties responsibilities well.
DOMAIN
The Inside appearance is well arrange and well organized they
have active and less active students.
The teacher uses the psychomotor domain. She let the pupils
perform a drawn out pictures based on their imagination.
She also uses the cognitive domain to let their intellectual thinking
goes on to interact.
During the reading activities, she uses the affective domain because
she lets the pupils relate their own experience of that to the stories that is
red by the teacher.
COMPETENCIES/PERFORMANCE INDICATOR
In the teacher discussion as what I have observed, the learners are
able to understand everything when she uses the “mother tongue”.
The teacher then gives a quiz to test them and she is satisfied with
the scores because even if they don’t get really perfect, their scores
indicate that they are really learning in what the teacher teaches them.
They are all follows the daily routine so their performance is
progressive.
OBSERVATION REPORT
My Critic teacher is Mrs. Luane Cantery she is good in teaching and
handling a student. She starts the class with Introduction. She did her daily
routine like prayers attendance collect assignment.
She used different strategy in order to catch up her the attention of the
learners. If notice that there is something wrong in the class she used the
behaviors strategy.

SUGGESTED ACTIVITIES
SPECIFIC TASK
The school and classroom environment is a very impressive place for
learning. I observed that the learners are classified through fast learners,
average learners and slow learners.
Some pupils do not listen to the teacher’s instruction on their
classroom agreement.
The pupils are well trained even in their young age. The teacher
assigned task for the classroom monitorial routine. They are very
observant in doing their responsibilities on their daily routine.
DOMAIN
My first observation to the teacher’s strategy to tech the pupils is
that she uses mainly the cognitive domain usually the questions to let them
practice to think and analyze.
The affective domain is always presentin every way of learning
because she always reminds the pupils to behave well and never quarrel.
I noticed that there are some pupils who do not listen and work well
when ask to do a task.
LEARNING EVIDENCE
The learning evidence in the classroom I was assigned is the
instructional materials and also the output of the students. The
result of the evaluation and everything is a proof that the
learners are progressive, not retarded.
In teaching, we must have to make teaching aid in order for
the pupils know what we are talking or explaining.
COMPETENCIES/PERFORMANCE INDICATOR
The Environment that provides social, psychological and
physical environment is the playground that socializes every
individual, the medical clinic that is concern to the student’s safety
and for the health of every student.
They have guidance office that advice everyone to be a good
learner and to help whenever they have problems of physical, social,
and emotional.
OBSERVATION REPORT
My observation at Estaka Central School their School has complete
facilities of learning these that is very important in every school.
These are school libraries office of the principal guidance room, Science
laboratory, school playground, stage indoor S not of all the comfort s CLASS
ROOM.
In the classroom where I’ve been assign the room is ventilated and has
light. The walls have many posted chart like the letters of alphabet, heroes
wheel of responsibilities that is much needed in every classroom.
The chairs are well arranged so that the student will feel comfortable. I
appreciate the classroom because of its proper ventilation and it well lighted
when it comes on dark time.

principal, stage Science laboratory, reading center, classroom and most
of all the comfort room for girls and boys.
The most effective facilities are the library that composed of
different kind of references likes books, newspaper, magazine,
encyclopedia dictionary and others, aside from library, they have also
audio visual media center which is effective and useful especially during
research work. The media helps the students to promote learning.
DOMAIN
The classroom also neat and clean has light and vintilated, the walls
posted many charts like alphabet, heroes, picture of the president,
announcements, visual aids in different subjects.

aside from that. They have also comfortroom and tub.
1 available table for the techers they has a special area for the
visual aids, projects and reference, and 1 television or media.
COMPETENCIES/PERFORMANCE INDICATOR
The students are very active to participate in the lesson during
the discussion they listen very well and then answer the question
briefly.
During the recess time some of the children are eating their
snacks afterwards they played. Few of them are up and down in the

The others also roaming arround if there teacher coming, they
run faster to get inside and seat the chair.
OBSERVATION REPORT
The Estaka Central School that I was assigned is a child friendly
school because their pupils or students are friendly to their classmates
and schoolmates. The teacher also is very understanding and concern to
the student’s safety that’s why their school is good for every learner.
Their school has complete facilities that support every learner as

SUGGESTED ACTIVITIES
SPECIFIC TASK
Based on my observation the preschoolers are highly need
advice to their parents and understanding of the while Elementary
Students are very curious about anything and they are very friendly and
enjoyable and the high school that I observe are friendly also and
enjoyable but they are trying to be independent in one as they going to
be mature one.
The pupils are very naughty yet they can still behave if the teacher
will tell them.
DOMAIN
The teacher uses different strategies in teaching the pupils. She uses
the three domains in learning.
I observed that most of the pupils want to listen to an epic story
where the unusual things are heard. They listened carefully and after
that, they will be actively participate when the teacher discuss the story.
The learners are able to relate their personal experience in the
story that is red by the teacher.
LEARNING EVIDENCE
There is no doubt that the classroom of my cooperating teacher has
a complete instructional materials and she uses good and effective
strategies in imparting the knowledge in her pupils.
The teacher should always explore and broaden the mind of the
learners so that they can enhance their learning to be imparted to their
pupils.
My critique teacher is always making evaluation and brainstorming
method, so that she can measure the skills and abilities of her pupils.
COMPETENCIES/PERFORMANCE INDICATOR
The performance of the learners is accelerating and they are
competitive enough.
My critique teacher always understands the attitudes of each pupil.
When others can’t understand, she repeats what she has been teaching.
When the pupils cannot catch-up, she will consider them and not
force them to think. She then reserves the lesson next day.
OBSERVATION REPORT
As what I’ve observed, the school is like many other schools
which provides good learning ambiance for the learners.
My cooperating teacher, Mrs. Tiangson is a strict but good
teacher. She uses her toughness for the students to behave and listen
when there arediscussions and lessons.
The classroom is a good place for learning. There are displays
and there are many things to be seen by the students as a part of
their learning activities.
The learning environment is important in providing a social,
physical setting with in which all students regardless their individual
differences in learning.
I observed that students will be more progressive when we
expose them to the field where they are interested.
I am greatly encouraged to learn more to be a good and
effective teacher.

SPECIFIC TASK
I observed in the classroom of my cooperating teacher that all
the materials and equipment are all kept up when not use. The divan,
health corner, chairs, tables, bookshelves, television set and also their
rag shoes.
I also observed that there are many posters, cards and other
visual aids which are very useful in guiding the learners of the facts
about anything n the world.
DOMAIN
The Diversity of learners is the fast learner, average learner and
the slow learner.
The students are being grouped by the teacher then gave task to
each of them such as drawing. The group that has the most beautiful
drawing will be recognized as top group.
The children are train to think creatively and logically by the
teacher. In this case, the teacher uses the three domains mainly the
cognitive and the psychomotor domain.
LEARNING EVIDENCE
Every Studentishaving individual differences. There are students
that are fast learners, average learners and the slow learners. Every
difference should be considered in the teacher.
The classroom is also considered to be the evidence of learning
because it is where the information is first found out and the curiosity of
what they see around them specifically the educational materials posted
or hang in the classroom.
COMPETENCIES/PERFORMANCE INDICATOR
Each learner has varied characteristics and needs. Like their
attitudes or values, there are students that behaved and there are
students that are talkative they keep roaming around and they need
understanding, advice and concern of their students and parents.
Inside the classroom, the teacher is evaluating the student in every
lesson they take up. She is giving exam or asking them to determine how
fast they catch up when she discusses.
However, as what I observed, there are pupils who can’t easily
catch up when the teacher teaches. It is because some of them put their
minds on games and songs like the “pusongbato” and dances like
“gangnam style” dance which is very popular nowadays.
OBSERVATION REPORT
As a first timer in Estaka taking up this field study, I discovered
that I am a good observer. It is because I have been looking around
and I found myself impressed. The school facilities are complete.
They have classrooms that accommodate all the pupils enrolled.
In my observation in my assigned classroom, I noticed that the
classroom management plays an important role in the field of
education.
The teacher’s strategy is also effective. There are many pupils
who are enthusiastic to learn while others are very weak and not
interested.
I learned many things in my seventeen hours of stay in the
school. I really look after my cooperating teacher for her
creativeness. She is very dedicated on her work and that is a good
sign of an effective teacher.
