This mission-critical packaged application, along with database level complexity and vast data volumes, create a challenge for its users to develop, test, release and monitor effectively. As banking and financial services industry is undergoing digital transformation, it’s now the time to unlock Temenos data, so teams can update processes to meet new regulatory rules, quickly track down issues in production, continuously test and monitor their core banking system and its interfaces. To roll out new products, business processes, and modules, professionals need data for development and testing environments but are operationally constrained by the slow, inefficient process of extracting, copying, and moving data. Traditional approaches of copying full cuts of production data to dozens of development, test, and risk modelling environments can take days or weeks to deliver or refresh environments, making data the critical bottleneck to completing Temenos core banking projects on time and on budget. In addition, industry measures, like MiFID II, Basel III, and GDPR are putting further pressure on testing and development teams that work with Temenos core banking—creating larger data volumes, and requiring more development and test environments available. © 2022 Validata Group. It enables teams to cut non-production data footprints by up to 80-90% by storing virtual copies of data. Virtual data can be accessed at any time for testing, can be bookmarked and retrieved to meet audit requests, and rewound to reconcile errors, and are continuously synced with source data. Virtual data environments, can also be shared with other users to drive collaboration between developers and testers and increase efficiency. For example, a virtual data environment that enables full access to 10TB can use less than 10GB of storage. This means that data provisioning can be faster and cheaper, and results in Temenos clients being able to significantly improve their stress testing coverage, optimize business risks, and extract the maximum efficiency out of their capital. #2 Self-service access to data Data delivery in legacy test data management systems can take up to weeks or months, keeping Development and QA teams waiting idle, when they could be completing testing cycles in minutes or hours. Developers and testers can now be more self-sufficient to provision their own test data sets to speed up testing and release software faster removing the dependencies on the DBAs and application experts. Both extracted, generated and imported data are stored and managed in Validata’s centralized repository with full access and version control © 2022 Validata Group. All Rights Reserved #3 Data Masking With all the regulations and mandates such as GDPR in effect, Data Masking is essential in protecting sensitive information. Temenos data will need to be masked to ensure strong data security compliance before distribution to every non-production environment. Validata provides integrated masking capabilities, improving test quality while ensuring that the use of production data will not put sensitive information at risk. It can also integrate data masking with data virtualization, allowing teams to quickly deliver masked, virtual data copies on premises or into private, public, and hybrid cloud environments. #4 Data Subsetting Creating a complete copy of production data for nonproduction environments is inefficient and expensive, as it increases data storage and maintenance costs and it slows performance. Leveraging data subsetting capabilities, development and testing teams can create, update, and secure referentially intact data subsets no matter how complex the data model is. This enables teams to build and update nonproduction systems faster for greater agility, and replicate and refresh production data quickly, using only high-quality data. This accelerates time to value for subsets of packaged applications like Temenos and significantly reduce infrastructure and maintenance costs. © 2022 Validata Group. All Rights Reserved Bring Data Agility to your Temenos app Our Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) allows users to access data the same way they are accessing applications and infrastructure: as a service, available instantly, anywhere and on demand. It addresses the need for better data orchestration, delivering application data with the scalability, automation, and self-service capabilities demanded by fast-moving project teams. DaaS provides functionality that speeds application projects, including Temenos Core Banking projects: • Self-Service Creation of Dev/Test Environments: With minimal storage costs or process delays required to create virtual data copies, teams can create as many test environments as needed. • Avoid Recode with Early Error Detection: With the ability to quickly deliver refreshed test environments, teams can do more testing earlier so they can identify bugs when they are less expensive to remedy. • Easier Database Patch Testing: By making virtual copies of databases, test teams can easily apply patches and test effects before migrating patched databases to the target system. • Database Rollback and forward: By making multiple virtual database copies at different points in time allows better testing and root-cause analysis. • Team Sharing and Collaboration: Leveraging DaaS, developers can easily share copies of a database for unit testing, integration testing, certification, or cutover. • Multi-Source Integrated Provisioning: With DaaS, developers and testers can provision multiple environments from different sources as of the same point in time, allowing effective and repeatable tests of code integration across applications. © 2022 Validata Group.
