By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to:
1. answer 4 out of 6 statements correctly.
2. write a short paragraph about oneself based on given
questions.
Patriotism and citizen
1. Pupils, in pair, come to the front and will be asked to
draw a card.
2. Pupil A read the word aloud and pupil B act it out.
1. Pupils are provided with pictures and word cards on
the board. Randomly ask 5 pupils to come in front and
match them correctly.
2. Pupils read the answers together.
3. Pupils then are provided with the text.
4. The more proficient pupils read the given text and the
others shadow read.
5. Pupils answer yes or no questions based on the text
read.
6. Pupils write a short paragraph about oneself based on
questions answered.
MAKE CONNECTIONS
1. Pupils look at flashcards posted on the board and give
their ideas about items in the pictures.
2. Pupils link the pictures to the text.
e.g. if a flashcard shows items in (1), the link is about
Suzie (sample text 2).
To extend, if time:
3. Pupils, in pairs, tell each other everything they can
remember from the text, using the flash cards to help
them.
