Steam Test Procedure for Horizontal Sterilizer prior to testing and commissioning (1. ALL VALVES AS MENTIONED BELOW ARE TO BE OPENED / CLOSED MANUALLY, AND ALL BY PASS VALVES, if any ARE TO BE CLOSED AT ALL TIMES.) 2. Fixed Saddle foundation Hold Down Nuts be taken out during steam test. Step 1: Closed Both Doors. Check and ensure all valves and steriliser door, are fully closed. (SAFE) Step 2 Open Condensate Valve, followed by Steam Inlet valve gradually open 15%. Feed in steam for 20 minutes Open steam inlet valve 30% and feed in steam 30 minutes. Check the condensate exhaust until hot air/steam ventilation. Check the expansion of sterilizer’s body. Step 3 Close Condensate Valve Open steam inlet valve 60% Raise pressure to 3psi and close the Steam Inlet valve Maintain for 15 minutes Step 4 Close steam inlet valve, Open Condensate Valve Release pressure to 0 psi Step 5 Open Steam Inlet Valve 80% Close Condensate Valve Raise pressure to 7psi and close the Steam Inlet Valve Maintain for 15 minutes Step 6 Open Condensate Valve Release pressure to 0 psi Step 7 Open Steam Inlet Valve 80% Close Condensate Valve Raise pressure to 15psi and close the Steam Inlet Valve Maintain for 15 minutes, check if any steam leaking and expansion of shell body. Step 8 Open Condensate Valve Release pressure to 0 psi Step 9 Open Steam Inlet Valve 100% Close Condensate Valve Raise pressure to 30psi and close the Steam Inlet Valve Maintain for 15 minutes, check if any steam leaking Step 10 Open Condensate Valve Release pressure to 0 psi Step 11 Open Steam Inlet Valve 100% Close Condensate Valve Raise pressure to 45psi and close the Steam Inlet Valve Maintain for 15 minutes, check if any steam leaking Set the pressure relief valve accordingly. Step 12 Open Condensate Valve Release pressure to 0 psi The sterilizer shall back to it normal position check the saddles support. Steam test of new sterilizer must be in very patient and gradually step by step. The above procedure is for reference only without obligation. The Sterilizer is now ready for Testing & Commissioning with FFB.
