It is with great pleasure that I write to inform you that you have been accepted for admission to the SOTAMBE
Film Institute for the Certificate Programme in Filmmaking. On behalf of the Institute, I congratulate you on
this accomplishment and welcome you to the SOTAMBE Film Institute.
SOTAMBE Certificate Programme in Filmmaking is a 10 months programme (consisting of 3 Terms) accredited
to TEVETA through ZAMCOM college. You will learn all components in filmmaking from script writing,
directing, cinematography, pitching, sound, editing and business in film. You will also produce a short film as
your graduation project. Part of the programme is an internship at various production houses and TV stations.
You will be taught by the academic practitioners from the industry as well as having virtual classes with
international experts.
We are dedicated to helping you achieve academic success and fulfill your educational as well as professional
goals while you are a student at our Institute. To begin the road to academic success, there are a few steps you
need to complete in order to become officially enrolled as a student at SOTAMBE Film Institute and to begin
your filmmaking journey as smooth as possible.
1. Review the enclosed Calendar for the 2024 January intake.
Please review the enclosed Calendar for further information on the Term 1. Please be aware that the dates
might change depending on the number of applicants. Any necessary changes will be communicated via
Whatapp/Call.
2. Student ID
Your Student ID number is included at the bottom of this letter. This number will also be used by the SOTAMBE
Film Institute staff to maintain and track your information. Kindly send us an electronic ID picture (headshot
in jpeg or png format) in order for us to generate your ID card. Student ID is K 60.
3. Finalize arrangements for financing your education.

Payment deadline is 14 days after the registration. Tuition fees and Internship fee are to be paid either to
our Bank Account (including the bank fees; total of K 19,400) or MTN Mobile Money (including withdrawing
fee; total of K 19,380). Upon the proof of payment (deposit slip/screenshot for MoMo) you will be issued the
receipt.
Various forms of financial aid as well as a payment per Term or monthly payment plan are available to help you
in meeting your tuition and fee obligations.

4. Boarding House Facilities
Kindly note that the Boarding House Facilities are provided by the Mindolo Ecumenical Foundation (MEF) at
the campus. Therefore, any questions or reservations with regards to accommodation should be directed to
MEF.

5. Filming Equipment
The Institute has filming equipment available however we do encourage our students to come with their own
equipment. In that way they will learn to work with and set up their own gear that they will be using even after
the school.
