Topic: Undertake research to compare and contrast TWO recent scientific advances chosen from the readings provided. You must consult at least FOUR other sources in addition to the one provided for each topic (Total SIX sources). Discuss all aspects mentioned in the organiser provided. Judge which of the two advances has made the most significant contribution to human progress and justify your choice. Write a report of at least 750 words. Remember that you need to cite at least SIX sources that are relevant to the topic. • Use appropriate scientific language, units and notation as they will be assessed. • Use peer-reviewed sources suitable for academic work. Be sure to acknowledge your sources by compiling a reference list which follows GAC guidelines. • Complete the organiser, draft (or drafts) and final version as homework or during supervised Independent Study Time. • Submit your organiser, draft (or drafts) and final version on the dates specified by your teacher. • Include the organiser and draft (or drafts) with the final version of the essay as they will all be assessed. • Submit your report in soft and hard copy.
