1 Methods The study's quantitative approaches were successful in providing enough answers to the research questions posed. The goal of this study was to compare the risk of inactivated flu vaccine to that of live attenuated influenza vaccination (LAIV) among children suffering from asthma (Ray et al., 2017). The researchers observed asthma exacerbations in hospital or emergency department settings after IIV and LAIV vaccines were issued among Kaiser Permanente Northern California members of ages between the ages of 2 and 18 with a history of asthma for a considerable time. They determined the relative risk of an exacerbation occurring in a period of one to fourteen days against the reference period of twenty-nine to forty-two days after vaccination for LAIV and IIV, respectively. The researchers then looked at the odds ratio among kids who received LAIV and those who received IIV. The researchers assessed the connection between vaccination and each outcome using a casecentered, risk-interval methodology. Therefore, these quantitative methods were appropriate as they answered the research questions by drawing conclusions from analyzing the data collected. Literature Review A literature review is relevant to the study, comprehensive, and analyzes studies that were less than 5 years old since the research was conducted. This indicates that the writers did an extensive search of the relevant literature. This shows that they took into account and included the most recent findings to justify their study on asthma exacerbations and the contrast between live attenuated and inactivated influenza vaccinations in children with asthma. The relevance and importance of research cannot be determined without first providing a thorough background in the relevant literature. The authors were able to identify a knowledge gap and place their work in context by conducting this thorough literature review. Therefore, the literature evaluation validated the need of doing this research. 2 References Ray, G. T., Lewis, N., Goddard, K., Ross, P., Duffy, J., DeStefano, F., ... & Klein, N. P. (2017).
