Work for this up-grading referring together to the Instruction Manual of main unit. Outline of Up-grading Procedures Upper coil Lower coil I Removing FRP covers I Replacing PCBs Attaching coaxial cables I Positioning connectors I + Adjusting impedance and phase I Adjusting isolation 1NG I OK Completed L2E-BM5208 Then remove three PCBs mounted on the lower coil. Use the soldering iron to remove the copper plates soldered to each PCB. The parietal side connector shown in the figure above is included in the accessories supplied. If it is hard to remove it, connector pins may be cut off. Then attach PCBs supplied (three in total). At this point, however, the screws fixing PCBs should be temporarily tightened. 1.3 Connecting cables Attach the coaxial cables to PCB. Refer to the figure below for soldering locations. P C B a t t h e of coil Rbd-Shirld 2. Preparing the upper coil As shown in the figure, remove the FRP cover of upper coil and then the side plate (hatched). Then loose the screws fixing PCBs. -3- L2E-BM5208 @ When the connector at the parietal side does not fit Remove the copper plate soldered to the right and left PCBs for the moment. Then file off the PCB mounting hole and FRP cover windows (6 locations). Foot side Parietal side To CBS are shifted to Lhe 4. Attach all the FRP covers and check if the connectors can be successfully connected. 5. Checking connection of the lock Check if there is no positional shift of the lock in the up/down direction. If any shift in the fore/back direction is found, follow the steps below for adjustment. (JiJ Remove the lock currently attached. @ With the upper or lower hole as a reference, file off the hole of the side where the lock is shifted. To be filed off At this time, take care of the hole to be widened laterally, and not to be widened vertically. 0 Use brass screws @I3 flat-head screw) and hexagonal nuts included in the accessories supplied to fix the lock at the side which holes have been filed off. @ Restore the FRP covers (U) and (IJ to their positions. -5- L2E-BM5208 @ Fold aluminum foil (or spacer for adjusting table height: aluminum plate) to a size of about 1Ocm square, and slowly bring it from the left or right side of coil. Aluminum foil or the like At this time, measure amplitude of signal displayed on the oscilloscope and find a position where the amplitude becomes smallest. I I Amplitude of oscilloscope Then, remove the copper tape if it is stuck at the side opposite to the side where the amplitude became smallest. If the copper tape has not been stuck at the opposite side, stick the copper tape at the side of aluminum foil. When sticking the copper tape, do so to the location shown below so as not to touch the copper plate of coil. Location where the copper tape is to be stuck. After sticking the copper tape, try to bring aluminum foil from the left or right side When amplitude of signal displayed on the oscilloscope becomes larger of coil. even if bringing it from either direction, adjustment has been completed. -7- L2E-BM5208 MR Imaging System Joint Motion Devices Installation and Adjustment Manual Knee/Cervical Device Shoulder Device Wrist Device Ankle Device Lumbar Device Hip Device Model MRP-5000 Model MRP-7000 Model AIRIS HITACHI MEDICAL SYSTEMS AMERICA Twinsburg, OH 0 Copyright Hitachi Medical Systems America 1997, All rights reserved, L5E-BMA102- 1 1. Procedures: ① Set the phantom (in the same way as in tuning adjustment). ② Change RF LINE by COIL DATA ENTRY program. Solenoid side : RF LINE = 3 Saddle side : RF LINE = 1 -3- 4 L2E-BM0449 ③ Scan an image for SN ratio measurement and measure the SN ratio. Refer to item (6) of this Manual for sequence of SN ratio measurement. Scan is to be performed in single slice. Be sure to scan only after the RF GAIN adjustment is done for each scan. (Refer to the Installation Manual for RF GAIN adjustment.) ④ Calculate ATT value as follows: ATT value = 20.log (Solenoid side SN/Saddle side SN) ⑤ Round off the ATT value obtain in ④ and set this value by COIL DATA ENTRY program. Use the coil No. which is not yet used. (※ use the coil No. “8“ for MRP-7000 only) (5) RF GAIN Adjustment Adjust the RF GAIN in accordance with the Installation and Adjustment for the main unit. The Coil No. should be the same as used in (4). (6) S/N ratio measurement Check the tuning voltage if within the range OC 4E by taking a SCANOGRAM.
