Day one commenced with Opening speeches from the following persons: Nicola Balram – Communication Manager, CLBD Dr. Natasha Gaskin – Peters Director, CLBD Ms. Natina Singh – Local Content Supervisor, ExxonMobile Guyana Mr. Rafeek Khan -1st Vice President , GMSA Ms. Brooke Glasford – Story of her Family Business – Caribbean Clothing Co Ltd Ms. Oneidge Waldron - Mins. Tourism -had to leave and was replaced by Safrana Cameron- Economist in the ministry of tourism.p The boot camp started with exercises. The intention of the first exercise was to answer the following questions. 1. What is the name of your Product/Company? BRASS ALUMINIUM & CAST IRON FOUNDRY LTD 2. What problem are you trying to solve? 3. What Business solution do you have to solve this problem? 4. How will you make Money? The above exercise saw us developing a business model canvas in which the intention was to identify revenue drivers and cost drivers for the organization. Throughout this exercise we have the support of the CLBD team providing the necessary guidance and explanation required for the success of the exercise. At the end of day one exercise presentation were made indicating participants understanding. On Day 2 we were requested to be broken up into group which saw me and Mr. Barkoye being separated, hence we were placed in separate groups. Each group was required to create companies and utilize the Business model Canvas and identify the following: 1. Customer Segments,( who are we supply our products to, weather they are business 2 Business or business 2 customers) 2. Value proposition, (what problems we intend to solve by creating the product). 3. Channels,( how do deliver our value proposition, how do we meet our customer segments) 4. Customer relationship,( how do we interact with our customer’s). 5. Revenue streams,(how does our value proposition generate money). 6. Key resources,(what key resources are necessary or assets are necessary to deliver our value proposition). 7. Key Activities,(what activities are necessary to deliver our value proposition). 8. Key Partners,( suppliers, resources , activities ect). 9. Cost Structure,(what are the key costs in the company-labor, statutory requirements, raw material acquisition). Throughout this process all of the groups were assigned with mentors who were business owners and executives of Exon Mobile, they work with us to ensure that we understand the exercise and the end results required. The third and final day. Day 3 was identified as pitch day, we were guided pitch development and presentation. The objective of our company were to pitch our company to potential customers. My Judges were: Ms. Lavonia Springer. Ms. Han Gasken Peters Mr. laurant Padigon. Mr. Barkoye’s judges were: Mrs. Natasha Gaskin Peters. Mr. Joseph Dejonge Mrs. Harley Gilbers Our company was the only Engineering manufacturing company. The event was well attended by more than 50 participant most of which were small business.
