My respects to our campus chancellor, Dr. Quenstein D. Lauzon. To the directors of the different offices,
to the college deans and department heads, faculty, staff, and students, good afternoon.
This year’s Intramurals has been a rough and tough ride. From the opening up until our last day, we
faced a lot of challenges beyond our control such as the generally unaccommodating weather. However,
given the fervor of spirit that Tolosa Viscans have, we were successful in opening the 2022 Intramural
activities last October 26, albeit under the rain. As we pushed through with our games, Typhoon Paeng
unfortunately halted all the scheduled activities. Nevertheless, the OSCAA is now joyous that finally we
have, after all the odds, gathered this afternoon, for the last day of our intramural activities and to
celebrate not just our victories in our games but also to grace and make meaningful our closing
ceremony.
The VSU Tolosa 2022 Intramural games would not be possible without the active participation of our
faculty, staff and students. Without all of you, the events would have been bland making scorings and
competitions devoid of ardor. That is why, please allow me to extend my sincerest gratitude to all of
you.
The success of this event would not have so much impact if it hadn’t been for the toil of people worthy
of our deep appreciation. Allow me to give my thanks…
First, to Sir Amos Calamaya, for taking charge of all sporting events, facilitating the recording of winners,
and for scouting officiating officials that helped in our 2022 Intramural games. Indeed, your contribution
Sir is crucial in making sure that our games was up to standards.
To Sir Danny Lerios, thank you sir for being with us from the 1stday of the Intramurals up until now. Your
intense assistance provided the OSCAA with the much-needed zeal in pushing through the odds and for
being one call away whenever we need your help.
To Ms. Airies Caminoc, thank you so much for being the sprightly runner that greatly helped us with the
tumultuous preparation. Your unflinching participation despite your personal life struggles lately,
deserves much credit that is beyond any material or verbal recognition.
Also, to Mr. Kenneth Alvin Cinco and Edward dela Cruz, for the layouts, programs and many more.
I also would like to extend my profound gratitude to the offices who helped the OSCAA in this event: to
the General Services office headed by Sir Danilo Lerios, especially through our grounds men for the
untiring preparation of the game venues; The MIST, headed by Sir Frank Britz Cadavis for the assistance
in live-streaming our grand events such as Mr. and Ms. Intramurals and to the various digital services
that they extended the OSCAA; to the Office of the Student Affairs, led by Sir Mark Donald Balo; to the
office of Budget and Finance, led by Sir Bong Apostol; and of course to the office of the Chancellor, Mam
Twinks – Dr. Lauzon, for the approval of this activity and for the full support that she gave especially in
her active participation as group leader of Team Faculty One.
Allow me also to say thank you to our faculty members who served as masters of ceremony in the
different culture and the arts activities especially (Please put name sir Da). Last but not the least, to our
most vigorous faction advisers, Sir. Erwin Dorego of Pamilyang, Sir Arnold Ty of Pamilyang, Sir Randy
Briones, and Sir Rocky Marco whose participation showed us that an undaunted spirit of leadership is
the key to collective actions that is necessary if victory is every faction’s aim.
I hope that you will bring within your hearts forever the memories that you had gained from the 2022
Intramural games. I wish that you treasure the friendships that you had formed especially with your
team mates as well as your competitors, and that I hope that these games will become a source of your
motivation if not inspiration in coming to school daily because deep in your hearts you have known and
witnessed that there is something more to look forward to in our VSU Tolosa.
