Cepheus Constellation The Cepheus constellation is located in the Northern Hemisphere of the sky. Cepheus is the king of Ethiopia. He is the husband of Cassiopeia, who is the daughter of Arabus. They had a daughter together named Andromeda. Cepheus's wife Cassiopeia made the statement that both she and her daughter were more gorgeous than the Nereids, which are the sea myths. After the comment was made, Nereids was hurt and told Poseidon, who was the Greek god of the sea and earthquakes. Posiden took it upon himself to send a flood and a marine monster to wreck Cepheu's land. Only the death of the king's daughter, Andromeda, could save the realm, the prophet of Ammon informed Cepheus. The monster then bound Andromeda to a rock while she was still completely naked, only for some jewelry on her. The monster was getting closer, but then Perseus, who was an ancient Greek hero, happened to be traveling along the coast going north. He then instantly saw Andromeda and thought she was very pretty and decided he was going to save her by killing the monster and marrying her. Hermes, who was the messenger for Zeus, had given Persues magical powers. In addition to being the head of the Gorgon Medusa, he also had magical flying sandals. Any object might be turned to stone by the power of Medusa's head. Following his triumph, Perseus placed the Gorgon's head on a bed of seaweed, which turned into coral right away. When Cepheus passed away, one of Andromeda and Perseus' children, Perses, succeeded him as king of Ethiopia.
