A. HISTORICAL SKETCH OF THE COMPANY The Commission on Audit (COA) is an independent constitutional body in the Philippines that is responsible for auditing government accounts and operations. It was established on June 11, 1986, under the 1987 Philippine Constitution, which was ratified after the People Power Revolution that ousted former President Ferdinand Marcos. Mission To ensure accountability for public resources, promote transparency, and help improve government operations, in partnership with stakeholders, for the benefit of the Filipino people. NATURE OF BUSINESS Commision On Audit is a government agency and an independent constitutional commission in the Philippines mandated to examine, audit, and settle all accounts and expenditures of the government and its instrumentalities, including government-owned or controlled corporations. It is tasked to promote transparency and accountability in government transactions, ensure the proper use of public funds and assets, and prevent and detect irregular, unnecessary, excessive, or extravagant expenditures. COA is one of the three independent constitutional commissions established under the 1987 Philippine Constitution, alongside the Civil Service Commission and the Commission on Elections. C. THE JOBS WHICH YOU ARE ASSIGNED DURING THE PERIOD OF YOUR JOB INTERNSHIP From March 20, 2023 to April 28, 2023, (8:30 am – 5:30 pm) As part of my college curriculum, I had the opportunity to undergo an On-the-Job Training (OJT) program at a reputable company. During my OJT, I was assigned to the Audit department of the company, where I was able to gain hands-on experience in various auditing tasks. One of the most valuable experiences that I gained during my OJT was learning how to communicate with different government officials effectively. I learned how to interact with clients, team members, and superiors in a professional manner. This helped me to develop my interpersonal skills, which I believe will be valuable in my future career. In addition, I also learned how to work with a team to achieve a common goal. During my OJT, I was assigned to work on a CTC findings with other members of the audit team. Through this task, I learned how to collaborate with others, communicate effectively, and allocate tasks according to each member’s strengths. Moreover, my OJT experience helped me to gain practical knowledge about auditing principles and strategies. I was able to apply the theoretical concepts and ethical concepts that I had learned in the classroom to real-life situations. This hands-on experience was invaluable, and it helped me to understand the complexities of marketing in a practical context. Overall, my OJT experience was a valuable learning opportunity, and I am grateful for the experience. It helped me to develop my skills and knowledge, and it gave me a better understanding of what to expect in my future career.
