people. Skype can be used on mobile tablet or computer/laptop.
c. Advantage: Skype can be installed with a simple installation procedure and is
a reputable, reliable free software. Skype allows people a verity of
communications types.
d. Disadvantage: Skype requires a stable, powerful internet service and
sometimes Skype credit. Skype is free but to use its advanced features you
have to buy its premium.
2. Zoom
a. Web: https://zoom.us/
b. Usage: Zoom is a cloud-based video conferencing platform that is used for
video conferencing meetings, audio conferencing, webinars, meeting
recordings, and live chat. Zoom can be used on mobile tablet or
computer/laptop.
c. Advantage: Zoom is easy to use and deploy. Zoom works better even on
slow connection of internet. Zoom app pricing is easy on the budget, so that
anyone can buy its advance features easily.
d. Disadvantage: Zoom has a delayed customer service and cyber-attack may
shrink a number of users. In 2020 Zoom was hacked and data of its users was
sold on Darkweb.

b. Usage: Discord is a free communications app that lets you share voice, video,
text chat and calls with friends, and other people. Zoom can be used on
mobile tablet or computer/laptop.
c. Advantage: Discord lets people to share their screen, chat via voice, video, or
text, and join servers where larger communities gather and can share files
links and much more.
d. Disadvantage: Discord offer user limits in channels and servers. Discord
doesn’t offer the perks or image quality of other, better known video calling
apps. Discord includes few native integrations.

b. Usage: Slack is a messaging app for business that connects people to the
information they need. By bringing people together to work as one unified
team, Slack transforms the way organizations communicate. Slack can be
used on mobile tablet or computer/laptop.
c. Advantage: In Slack channels are used to link people. The channels can be
either private or public. It allows users to download and share pictures and
files among other members.
d. Disadvantage: The conversation is automatically deleted after 14days. Slack
has minimal storage, that means it can’t be used as email.
5. Google Hangouts

b. Usage: Google Hangouts is a communication platform that allows members
to initiate and participate in text, voice or video chats, either one-on-one or in
a group. Google Hangouts can be used on mobile tablet or computer/laptop.
c. Advantage: Google Hangouts provides automatic synchronized
conversations service. The users can make a conference call with up to 10
members and also can send chats while on call.
d. Disadvantage: Google Hangout requires a Google+ account. There is no
message track and you cannot set status.
6. GoTo Meeting

b. Usage: GoTo Meeting is an online meeting software that makes is easy to
connect people in any way. GoTo Meeting can be used on mobile tablet or
computer/laptop.
c. Advantage: GoTo Meeting allows users to have full control over the
equipment of any participant. You can send documents in real-time. You can
have large meetings and it only requires internet connection to join a meeting.
d. Disadvantage: GoTo Meeting requires a strong internet connection and latest
devices, if you have slow internet or an old device you will face issues while
joining meetings. GoTo Meeting costs its users to access premium features.
7. Flock

b. Usage: Flock is a app which is used for direct & channel messaging, video
conferencing, screen and file sharing. Flock can be used on mobile tablet or
computer/laptop.
c. Advantage: Flock's free version has standard communication features, such
as unlimited one-on-one and group messages. You can also create up to 10
public channels and do one-on-one video calls.
d. Disadvantage: The free version of Flock does not support group video calls.
Also, its file storage capacity is only 5GB, which is not substantial for an
entire team. It also has room for one admin, which is only enough for a small
team.
8. Viber

b. Usage: Viber is an application that allows its users to exchange audio and
video calls, stickers, group chats and instant voice and video messages.
Google Hangouts can be used on mobile tablet or computer/laptop.
c. Advantage: Viber provides you instant messaging service using that you can
call anyone all over the world for free and text them for free. You can send
pictures to people and can also take pictures.
d. Disadvantage: Viber doesn’t have any option of call blocking. So, you can’t
block any unknown user. Viber doesn’t work on mobile data; you must have
Wi-Fi to use Viber.

and data sharing and for live video. Workplace can be used on mobile tablet
or computer/laptop.
c. Advantage: In workplace software you can see both top-down and bottom-up
communication. It allows teams to communicate better, collaborate more
efficiently, and reach their goals faster.
d. Disadvantage: It becomes difficult to track all the new posts, updates and
comments. You have to individually open every team's page for updates
which is time consuming. Advanced search is not present.

b. Usage: Zoho Meeting is an online platform which is used for online
meetings and webinars that helps people find new ways to collaborate and
work remotely with efficacy. Google Hangouts can be used on mobile tablet
or computer/laptop.
c. Advantage: Screen sharing and application sharing options and remote
access to other devices make it simple for anyone to use. Audio and video,
polls, and recording capabilities are available for valuable presentations,
product promotions, and webinars
d. Disadvantage: The connection is unstable while you are in a meeting or
webinar, and the interface is unappealing. Meetings and webinars lack
proper HD video support. There is no user or meeting management when
you are in one video conference with this service.

By participating online video conferencing platforms its easy for
students to focus on the speaker, taking notes, and asking questions
about speaker’s point of view while expressing your ideas.
2. Online discussion boards:
Everyone should join discussion boards or forums about their field, so
that they get to read others posts and analyze others point of view on
that specific topic which will help them in enhancing their
communication skills by sharing their thoughts with others.
3. Text messages for group projects:
You can have a group text chat with your teammates or classmates for
the project you are given using apps like Slack. These digital tools
allow you to have a real-time conversation and have an effective team
work. This might help you clearing your doubts and helps you end up
having a successful collaboration.
4. Online webinars and podcasts:
You can engage webinars and podcasts related to your area of interest
by using these digital tools and platforms. This might help you getting
ideas about your study, making of notes and some key point by the
speaker. This will help you in improving your active listening skills
and enhancing your knowledge.
5. Language enhancement:
If you are not a fluent speaker or hesitates in socializing with people,
joining online discussions and talking to people and having chats with
them will enhance your communications skills and you will be able to
