I am vibrant young man age 32, and a holder of Bachelor’s degree in renewable energy technologies.
Capitalizing on my past accomplishments and present post, I enthusiastically write to express my interest
in serving at your company as; Assistant electrical maintenance engineer (Grade- EG7) tenable in your
company at Kapichira power station. My educational coursework and rigorous experiences in both
transmission and distribution departments have provided me with exceptional and extraordinary
experience in generation, maintenance (both preventive and corrective), power system control,
transformer.
For the Eight consecutive years I have been working at ESCOM, I have worked as a temporary employee
with metering department as meter artisan for six months and for seven years I have worked with
transformer workshop as transformer fitter and currently am working with transformer workshop on the
same post, under metering department I have gained a considerable knowledge and experience in
installation of single phase, three phase and maximum demand meter, carrying out meter
inspections/audits to check the functioning of the meters and identify faulty meters as well as tampering
of the meters, carrying out MD meter audits, maintenance and faults clearing on MD equipment, single
phase, three phase meter, door to door, facilitating timely repair and replacement of faulty meters,
ensuring that all customers are in the appropriate tariff category, Under transformer workshop I have
gained a considerable knowledge and experience in installation of pole mounted and underground
transformers, rehabilitation of transformers, clearing of transformer faults, laying of underground cables,
termination of high and medium voltage cables, joining of high and medium voltage cables, cable route
tracing, cable fault locating, connection of high and medium cables and installation and maintenance of
switch gears, execute switching operations, recording of system events. My colleague regards me as a
motivated, quick learner, a good team player and an effective coordinator.
It would therefore be a tremendous privilege to bring these good set of skills with me that can make a
really significant contribution to the company through working with your great team, and that would be
able to meet my job responsibilities and grow as a professional in Power generation industry. I have
