Act 5 scene 1
1. what happens to Rodrigo?
Rodrigo is stabed and wounded after he tried to stab Cassio, but failed to pierce Cassio’s armor
2. when people come, what does Iago do to Rodrigo?
Iago suggests that Rodrigo is to blame
3. what happens to Cassio?
Cassio is stabbed in the leg. Iago stabs him in commotion and he didn’t know who has been
stabbed him
4. what does Iago tell Emilia?
Iago tells her what has happened. He said that Cassio is almost slain by Rodrigo and his fellows
and Rodrigo dead.
Act 5 scene 2
1. what does Othello accuse Desdemona? What does Desdemona try to convince him?
Othello accuses that she has been unfaithful to him with Cassio—he has seen the proof in the
handkerchief.
Desdemona convince to send for the man and ask him. She told that she never love Cassio and
never gave him token.
2. What does Othello do to Desdemona?
He chokes his wife hard and did it quickly because he is thinking himself to be merciful, and not
wanting to have his wife linger in pain
3. What does Emilia tell Othello about Cassio and Rodrigo?
Emilia informs Othello that Cassio has killed Rodrigo and tells that Cassio is alive
4. When Emilia finds Desdemona dying, what does Desdemona tell her?
Desdemona cries out that she has been murdered but she recants her statement and telling
Emilia that she was not murdered but killed herself.

Othello admits to Emilia that he killed Desdemona
6. What does Emilia tell Othello about handkerchief?
She found the handkerchief and gave it to Iago, after handing over Desdemona's handkerchief
to Iago, Emilia explains that Desdemona will become extremely upset once she notices the
object is missing, so unless the handkerchief serves some important purpose, she would like to
return it to her mistress.

Othello falls weeping upon the bed that contains the body of his dead wife

she informs Othello of Roderigo's death and the attempted murder of Cassio. She calls for help
and Iago, Montano and Gratiano appear. Emilia having heard from Othello that Iago told him of
Desdemona "cheating" on him with Cassio, accuses him of gross dishonesty leading to an unjust
murder
9. What does Iago do to Emilia?
Iago threatens and then kills her at the first opportunity.
10. Why ?
He angered at Emilia's words, which incriminate him, Iago accuses her of lying. To cover up his
role in Desdemona's death and his manipulation of Othello, Iago stabs Emilia to death.
Essentially, Iago kills Emilia to hide his own guilt
11. Before she dies, what does Emilia tell Othello?
As she dies, Emilia tells Othello that Desdemona loved him.
12. How does Othello feel knowing the truth?
Because Emilia insists that Desdemona was faithful; Othello replies that Cassio had been with
her, and Iago knew all about it. Now Emilia has the key idea.
13. When Othello finds the truth about Iago’s evil action, why doesn’t he kill him?
Othello doesnt kill Iago because he believes that death can brung you more happiness than life.
So to make Iago suffer, he keeps him alive.

Othello asks Cassio how he came by the handkerchief, and Cassio replies that he found it in his
chamber.

he decides on and enacts a punishment for his crime of killing Desdemona and he suicide
