SOP QUESTIONNAIRE Q1. What Course are you applying for? Why do you want to do this course? I`m applying for Biomedical sciences as I am interested in science and the way it works and its functions and features in studying the human body. Q2. Was there an incident that influenced your decision? If so, describe it. I was interested in science since I was a child It seemed fascinating to know about bodily functions and random scientific facts that I would know watching web documentaries and since I was born and raised in India with a larger population number in a developing country there`s a much larger need for basic medical attention for health issues that could affect the country in a large wave having the awareness and after losing my father to the Covid pandemic as my father wanted to make me a doctor and had immense faith in me I want to complete the dream. Q3. What is your educational background? How will it help you in the course you want to do? Q4. What are your objectives for doing this course? My objective would be to understand the human body functions, learn the causes of all diseases, and come up with inventive treatments for diseases as many industries require biomedical scientists the skills learned are highly transferable as I could study further and pursue being a crime scene investigator, biomedical clinical, forensic, research scientist or neuroscientist and more and by biomedicine, I could 3D-printing a heart or creating a new solution for cancer and changing the world Q5. What are your Goals in the long and short term? My long-term goals would be to learn more graduate from college or university to become independent possibly earn and be self-sufficient I don`t wanna pressure my mother with my educational funds as she is an alone earner now and even has to look after my brother making long term friends for my short term goals learning about share market work on improving myself improving my productivity saving money and creating earing options and studying properly and obtain knowledge Q6. What values and strengths do you think you have in you to achieve those goals? To achieve my goals I think I`m more of a curious person as science is about curiosity and imagination too and I think I'm a keen observer too as science needs attention to the small details I have somewhat knowledge of languages and I'm striving to perfect it I`m a creative as I'm good in art I tend to have the ability to see multiple perspectives I think independently and as my MBTI is INFP Driven to meet the needs of others, INFPs tend to choose creative or human service-oriented careers that allow them to use their instinctive sense of empathy and remarkable communication skills INFPs can be powerful leaders because they can profoundly inspire others. When they tap into their passion, sense of meaning, and natural abilities of creative expression, they can get others excited about the causes they believe in. Q7. What weaknesses do you think you have? As for my weaknesses, I think I tend to Struggle to share myself and my problem with others as it feels like nothing good would happen from it and I would disturb the person I told my situation to sometimes I Neglect my wants and needs as I have to be family oriented and think about them too and how my decisions could affect my surroundings sometimes I tend to self isolate myself I'm striving to be my best self yet. Q8. What are the professional skills that you have acquired through your education, work; extracurricular activities? How will they help you in this course? Q9. Describe your final year project (if any) I don`t have any projects as I'm an undergraduate and they don`t have the same system in India I was an integrated student solely studying and attending lectures. Q10. Did you ever take on additional responsibilities (academic, professional, personal, etc.) Q11. Have you done anything on your own initiative? Did it succeed or fail? I have tried doing many different things like trying to study new languages trying to learn about online hustles and getting knowledge about the share market trying to take care of my body learning new cooking skills and making new dishes learning arts and different ways to make it read books learning new instruments like piano and guitar ect Q12. What are your parents doing? What did they study? As my father died recently due to covid he`s no more here with me he used to work as a senior accounting manager at Zee Entertainment Enterprises and was the most hard-working person I know working there as he used to handle a workload of up to 3 people alone he worked there for about 21 years as for his educational background is he studied up till B.com in India and pursued further studies alongside with his job expect in his 40`s and completed his Mba in finance and studied a diploma in computer programming and analyst and my mother used to work at Maersk India worlds largest shipping company as the Senior Executive and worked there for about 16 years after my father's death she started working at Mastek a software company as associate admin executive as for her educational background she studied up till B.com she did an additional course in diploma in sanitary inspection and studied a diploma in computer programming and analysis Q13. What do you think your parents taught you in life? Being born in India in a middle class family I have learnt a lot from my parents as my parents always tried to avail things for me and my brother that they coudn`t experience as children in big joint famailes with my grandfathers beuing only soul with income for the whole family as India is a house to multiple different religions my parents yhought me toi be crutural and keep our traditins alive being in middle class family my parent told me to be content with the little we have as we had and have been tight on money to be humble and to share everything with my brother and family to be open to criticism but be confident about yourself and and your beliefs and thoughts to care about the right things as our lives and resources are finite being in society and groups have your own opnion too and much more I wish I had more time with my father sas I loved him a lot and was my role model but couldn`t really tell him about everything and would have been able to tack care of him in his old age my parents thought me that life`s important . Q14. Have you ever been in a leadership position? What makes a good leader? How was your experience? Being responsible itself is a leadership process to ones own self as being responsible mean you lead yourself forward for me leadership position for me would be my responsibility it can be taking care of my brother or supporting my family
