In consideration of the statement, long as business transactions exist, accounting professionals will remain in demand. Taking accountancy as a course and as a profession enables individuals a wide range of opportunities to work in different industries. Finances and monetary values serve as the main purpose as to why workers often offer one third of their day to therefore afford their living means. Accounting is an essential part of the industry. Philippines and its corporate field cannot stand without accountants, reason as to why plenty students choose practicality and take Accountancy as their course. Famous academic institutions in the Philippines offer Accountancy, however only for a limited number of learners. These institutions are able to gain a high passing percentage among their learners in board exams, that is why the entrance to the institutions are of a high standard. The institutions cannot cater the number of students that aims to pursue Accountancy as a career. Upon the numbers of the willing learners is the decreasing number of Accounting institutions that will enable these individuals to pursue their career choice. In between the demand of the corporate industry and the teaching establishments, professionals often pursue their dream office jobs. This results to the lack of teachers that are qualified to teach accounting profession. According to a study held and summarized by James R. Martin- The Accounting Doctoral Shortage and Opportunities to Teach Accounting, “although there are lots of opportunities to teach accounting as a faculty adjunct at the 4-year non-doctoral institutions and 2-year institutions, they don't pay adjuncts very well and most of those programs require a master's degree to teach.” The researchers aims to identify the factors that are assumed as purpose as to why the lack of teaching accountancy professionals exist. This will enable a better understanding towards the lack of accountancy teachers and may be a basis for a solution. According to the statement, “Accounting undergraduate programs nationwide are experiencing a shortage of academically qualified accounting faculty (Eaton, 2007). The number of terminal degrees (PhDs) in accounting has steadily declined over the past twenty years (Eaton, 2007).” Proving the existence of the lack of accountancy professionals that teaches inside the institutions. By conducting the study, the researcher will be able to attain a deeper understanding towards the factors that entails the lack of accounting professionals that teaches accountancy. This study may also offer new ideas as a basis for another study.
