GUIDELINES FOR ENFORCING EXAM INFRINGEMENTS RULES 1 Students are to place their electronic devices/gadgets (e.g. mobile phones, music players, laptops, smart watches etc.) at designated rooms or locations before entering the examination hall 2 Students must not have in your possession any unauthorized material or electronic devices/gadgets in the examination hall 3 An Amnesty period shall be granted to students who have in their possession any unauthorized material or electronic devices/gadgets to submit them to the invigilator before the start the examination 4 Any unauthorized electronic devices/gadgets collected from students during the amnesty period shall be submitted to an examination officer/invigilator to check whether they contain foreign materials 5 Electronic devices/gadgets containing foreign materials shall be isolated and the owner questioned to that effect. Appropriate exam malpractice penalty will be imposed 6 Electronic devices/gadgets collected during the amnesty period shall be returned to students after the examination by the invigilator. 7 Any student who fails to submit his or her electronic device/gadget after the amnesty period shall attract a spot fine of 25marks deduction as instant penalty 8 Any student who during a given exam session commits a second offence of not submitting his/her electronic device/gadget after the amnesty period shall attract a spot fine of 50 marks deduction as instant penalty 9 Any student who during a given exam session commits a third offence of not submitting his/her electronic device/gadget after the amnesty shall be deemed committing an examination malpractice offense that will attract a penalty of the cancellation of the paper concerned and a two semester suspension STUDENTS ARE ADVISED TO COMPLY WITH THESE PROCEDURES
