Aesop A Hare was making fun of the Tortoise one day for being so slow. "Do you ever get anywhere?" he asked with a mocking laugh. "Yes," replied the Tortoise, "and I get there sooner than you think. I'll run you a race and prove it." The Hare was much amused at the idea of running a race with the Tortoise, but for the fun of the thing he agreed. So the Fox, who had consented to act as judge, marked the distance and started the runners off. The Hare was soon far out of sight, and to make the Tortoise feel very deeply how ridiculous it was for him to try a race with a Hare, he lay down beside the course to take a nap until the Tortoise should catch up. The Tortoise meanwhile kept going slowly but steadily, and, after a time, passed the place where the Hare was sleeping. But the Hare slept on very peacefully; and when at last he did wake up, the Tortoise was near the goal. The Hare now ran his swiftest, but he could not overtake the Tortoise in time. (The students listening) “Okay now class, what can you say about the story I shared?” Does it tell us something important about how we survived in life? “Exactly, that was a very good answer Windy.” You know what class? That’s why class you should help your parents to save money.” (Windy raises her hand) “Sir all I can say in that story is that we must always be ready for our future so that we can survive and so that we do not suffer hardship in the end. “Is there anyone know what moral lessons of this story?” “Yes sir we will.” “Okay Christian stand up and tell us.” (Christian raises her hand) “That was great Christian!” thank you for answering, you may sit down.” That’s why class if you want to succeed tomorrow, you have to start working today. Those who do not plan for the long term will not succeed in the future. “Class take note this” (WORK HARD TODAY AND YOU CAN REAP THE BENEFITS TOMORROW.) “The situation sums up moral lessons about the virtues of hard work and planning for the future.” “Thank you Sir (Christian sit down) “Yes Sir” E.
