Identify different parts of a Computer systems. 2. Analyze the faults/problems and its possible solutions. 3. Apply your learnings in the troubleshooting process. Introduction/Overview: Computers are very common property that we have at the present times due of technological era. Many of us only knows how to use a computer/devices but did not know how to fix it when we encounter some bugs or problems. On the other hand, fixing problems in our computer systems was difficult but these steps or procedures in troubleshooting can be learned. In many cases, if we face difficulties in our computer systems, we call a technician, but we can also be a technician. Having knowledge and skills in maintaining and repairing a computer systems and networks was a blessing to nurture. Technicians or not, we should be familiar to the faults of a computer and on how to fix these faults. FAULTS/PROBLEMS IN A COMPUTER SYSTEMS COMPUTER SYSTEMS Computer system is a basic but complete and functional software and hardware setup which is a set of united devices that allows the user to input, process, store, and execute data to become information. (Techopedia) It is a digital electronic machine that was created to perform different functions or operations depending to the set of instructions that the user may input in our computer. The computer system has a physical components which is commonly called as hardware and a software or computer programs. These both components are important for the computer to function. The physical components contains the computer itself, system unit, and all peripherals such as mouse, keyboard, fan, motherboard, RAM, ROM, HDD, CD-ROM, and etc. Planning Training Session COMPUTER SYSTEMS SERVICING NC II Date Developed: June 12, 2022 Developed by: MONICA O. Microphone – It is used to input sound on the devices and stored the data in a digital form. v. Digitizer – It is an input device used to convert analog signal from any devices into a series of numbers. PROCESSING DEVICES These are the devices inside a computer that reads, interprets, and manipulates the incoming data from the input devices. i. Central Processing Unit (CPU) – It is commonly known as processor, microprocessor, or central processor which purpose is to handle all the information gathered from the hardware and software devices of the computer. ii. Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) – It is a chip or electronic circuit that is used to display different graphics in a computer/devices. iii. Motherboard – It is also called as mobo or the backbone of the computer as it connects all the components of a computer for them to have connection in making a transaction of data. iv. Network Card – It is an expansion card that is used to connect the computer/devices to a network or internet. v. Sound Card – It is also an expansion card that is used to produce sound on a computer/devices. Those sounds we can hear from the earphone/headphones are produced by sound card. vi. Video Card – An expansion card that is used to create a picture/images on the computer/devices screen.
