General Development Score
The General Development Score represents an overall summary of development.
Kelsey obtained a Below Average score based on ratings on the teacher checklist and a
Delayed score based on ratings on the parent checklist.
Scale Interpretation
Physical Scale
The Physical Scale includes items measuring gross- and fine-motor skills, coordination,
strength, stamina, and flexibility.
Adaptive Behavior Scale
The Adaptive Behavior Scale measures age-appropriate independent functioning, which
includes the ability to use current technology.
Social-Emotional Scale
The Social-Emotional Scale measures skills related to interpersonal behaviors and the
demonstration of social and emotional competence. A score in the Delayed range
signifies skills well below the expected level of social-emotional development. There
may be a great deal of difficulty in the expression of needs, interactions with others, and
adherence to societal norms.
Cognitive Scale
The Cognitive Scale measures perception, concept development, number relations,
reasoning, memory, classification, time concepts, and related mental acuity tasks.
Communication Scale
The Communication Scale score reflects the ability to understand spoken and written
language as well as to use both verbal and nonverbal skills to communicate.
