Nguyen Thi Khanh Linh - CityU 10D - CA10-014 Topic: Part-time jobs Narrow topic: Trends of choosing part-time jobs among students of the CityU10 program of ISBA Methodology The quantitative method is used as a methodology for this research to answer these research questions. Due to its representativeness, which surveys the actual needs, identifies the scope, and gives the result with a high degree of reliability, this is the most optimal method. Furthermore, this method allows for the predetermined structured data collection and comparison of data in an objective and generalizable way. Statistical analysis can explain quantitative data, and since statistics are based on mathematical principles, the quantitative method is regarded as scientific and rational. Moreover, instead of using the qualitative method which spends much time collecting and analyzing the data and is quite long and challenging, the quantitative method is more suitable, takes less time, and makes it easier to have data. In addition, it provides data to supplement generalities that are not yet supported in the article. Thus, this method makes this research have a higher level of confidence. My research will be based on a survey at the International Department of Banking Academy (also known as ISBA). Participants in this survey are about 100 first-year students in the CityU program aged 18 to 20 and both male and female. In addition, with the expectation of answering research questions, a table of 10 questions in the form of multiple-choice will be distributed to students during recess or lunch break. In case the break time is not full of students, in order to achieve the expected goal and to have the opportunity to fill out this form for most of the students, a survey in the form of a Google form will be sent to the class presidents and forwarded to those who are absent. Since the field of part-time jobs is no longer a strange problem for students who attend universities, there is no need to explain the questions in the questionnaire. They will have time to read the question, think about it, and then choose from the answers available in the survey (and it is expected to take about 2 to 3 minutes for each person). In addition, quantitative and questionnaire methods will provide an objective view of this research. Readers will know how many percent of students are interested and choose to work part-time; the majority of first-year students choose the field; the reasons for deciding to go to work; and how it affects the academic results of the past more than one semesters through a quantitative perspective.
