The aim of this letter is to express my deep interest and motives to apply for the vacant
position entitled: Underwriting Officer. I believe that the responsibilities and credibility
required by the job demands not only adequate competencies but also a passion. No
other better opportunities and way of life that could be obtained than this to realize my
keen interest, bright future career and revitalize and comprehend my two decades of
experience. I am a class 2000 G.C graduate in Applied Mathematics (B.Sc. Degree) from
Addis Ababa University; and in 2013 G.C I make my second degree, Master of Business
Administration (MBA) from Rift Valley University, Ethiopia.
As part of my academic experience at Rift Valley University, I have been working in various
positions: I have taught Applied and Discrete Mathematics, Statistics, Optimization
Techniques, Numerical Analysis, Linear Algebra, Peachtree Accounting and Operations
Research classes; as Head Librarian, Head Registrar, ICT officer, Vice dean for academic
standards and quality assurance, and Business Management department head. As
practitioner, I am the key person in maintaining/building small digital library to be
accessed by students using CalibreR and Green StoneR; and as Registrar Head I have
prepared a small spreadsheet application and Ms Access data base for student record
processing, as well as software and hardware maintenance, and network installation and
management. I have also a rich experience in academic researches using SPSS in particular
through contracting the analysis parts that use complex statistical models to customers
from different fields of study.
