Basic Details of the Team and Problem Statement Name of the Students: Louie Allen, Trishi Tanmay, Ayushi Bongirwar, Abhinav Prabhath Problem Statement Title: Team Name: ALT Squad Team Leader Name: Ayushi Bongirwar Department: CINTEL SRM TECHNO HACKATHON 2023 Idea/Approach Details Describe your idea/Design/Problem Statement here: The challenge is to provide an effective and robust approach to detect and classify metal defects using computer vision and machine learning. Image preprocessing techniques such as filtering and extracting the features from the image is a good training model solution from which we can determine which type of defect the steel plate has. This solution can even be used in real-time applications such as in industrial machine inspection The idea is to examine images of large steel objects which are impractical to be checked manually by using this model we will be able to analyze damages like scratches, dents, deformation etc 2 Add process flow chart or simulated image of Design or any relevant image related to your idea Idea/Approach Details Describe your Technology details here ⮚ 3 Describe your Architecture ⮚ Idea/Approach Details Describe your Dataset details here ⮚ The dataset used in this project is gathered from Kaggle Link : https://www.kaggle.com/competitions/severstalsteel-defect-detection/overview ➢ This dataset consists of several images of steel plates/surfaces both with and without damage ➢ Approximately 18k files are involved in this dataset 4 Describe your Pseudo code ⮚ Idea/Approach Details Describe your Completion Status ⮚ 5 Describe your Learning ⮚ Team Member Details Team Leader Name: Ayushi Bongirwar Branch : CINTEL Stream : CSE with AIML Year (I,II,III,IV): III Stream : CSE with AIML Year (I,II,III,IV): III Stream : CSE with AIML Year (I,II,III,IV): III Team Member 1 Name: Trishi Tanmay Branch : CINTEL Team Member 2 Name: Abhinav Prabhath Branch : CINTEL Team Member 3 Name: Louie Allen Branch : CINTEL Stream : CSE with AIML Year (I,II,III,IV): III Stream : CSE with AIML Year (I,II,III,IV): III Team Member 4 Name: Type Your Name Here Branch : CINTEL Team Mentor 1 Name: Type Your Name Here Category (Academic/Industry): Expertise (AI/ML/Blockchain etc): Domain Experience (in years): Expertise (AI/ML/Blockchain etc): Domain Experience (in years): Team Mentor 2 Name: Type Your Name Here Category (Academic/Industry): Important Points Please ensure below points are met before submission ⮚ Kindly keep the maximum slides limit to 10 ⮚ All the topics should be utilized for description of your idea ⮚ Try to avoid paragraphs and post your idea in points ⮚ Keep your explanation precisely and easy to understand ⮚ Idea should be unique and novel. ⮚ You need to save the file in PPT ⮚ You can delete this slide (Important Points) when you present this ppt. ⮚ Note: Apart from this PPT, abstract of your idea will be asked separately while submitting 7 Important Points ❑ You must treat all team members, competitors, judges, coaches, volunteers, etc, with respect. ❑ Hackathon teams will be a maximum of 4 people ❑ All prizes are to be shared between all team members ❑ Teams should be made up of SRMIST students in School of Computing of any years 1, 2, 3 and final year. ❑ All team members should be present at the event. ❑ Teams can of course gain advice and support from organizers. ❑ Teams can use idea based on the defined problem given in Hackathon and have to be “innovative”. ❑ Teams can use libraries, frameworks, or open-source code and dataset. ❑ However, teams are allowed to debug and make small fixes to their programs. ❑ Teams can be qualified from the competition to the next level by their performance. ❑ Students will be eligible to claim 36 hours towards their participation in the Hackathon. 8 ALL THE BEST!!! 9
