• One of the architects of
the Gothic
Revival in England and chief
architect of the British Houses
of Parliament.

rebuilding of the Palace of
Westminster
• responsible for numerous
other buildings and gardens.

known for his major
contribution to the use
of Italianate architecture in
Britain.
