Due to my paper being an analysis paper of the representation of the devil, I am turning to one
of the most well-known and reputed representations of the devil, Milton’s Paradise Lost.. This epic
poem was written in England in the 1660’s, and its intended purpose was that of providing a critique on
many different things in society at the time, not least of all being the church. The poem was meant for a
public audience and is inherently biased because of its nature as a societal critique and representation
of the devil.
