Lesson Plan in Physical Education for SPED
Demonstration Method
I.
Objectives
At the end of 2 days lesson, the special education pupils will be
able to achieve the following for at least 85% of mastery:
a. Identify the different locomotor skills;
b. State the importance of locomotor skills; and
c. Demonstrate the five locomotor skills.

Procedure
A. Presentation
Good morning class! I am teacher Key. (Good morning
Teacher Key) How are you today? (We are fine, thank you) Good
to hear that! Are you all ready for our new lesson? (Yes teacher)
Okay!
1. Warm – Up
Before we proceed, let’s have first our morning
exercise. All eyes here in front as I play now the video.
You may now take your seats.
2. Motivation
Everyone, look here on the board. I have prepared
a chart. What can you see on the left side of our chart? (A
boy and a girl) Kurt represents row 1 which is the group
1. Jessa represents row 2 which is the group 2. These 2
neighbors decided to have a game. The first one to arrive
on his or her house will be the winner. Do you want to
help them? (Yes) For every participation, your group will
move 1 step forward. Is it clear? (Yes)

B. Presentation
I have prepared to you a video presentation. Listen and
observe for you to understand what it is all about.
Did you learned something from the presented video?
(Yes) Very good! Our lesson for today is locomotor skills.
There are 5 types of locomotor skills.
1. Walking is moving with one foot on the ground at all times.
2. Running is sometimes both feet are in the air while
travelling.
3. Jumping is going up and down with both feet in the air at
once.

4. Hopping is moving up and down with one foot.
5. Galloping is travelling with one foot always in the lead.
C. Demonstration
Now, I will demonstrate to you the five locomotor skills.
I want you to observe how it is being done. First, this is
walking. Next, running. Third, jumping. Fourth is hopping.
Last, galloping. Did you get it class? (Yes)
D. Return Demonstration
Together with your group, it is your time now to
demonstrate the five locomotor skills. I will give you 8 minutes
to practice the movements I showed to you and after that
group 1 will have the floor to perform followed by group 2. Any
question? If none, you may now begin practicing.
V.
Quieting Activity
Let’s give ourselves big round of applause! Did you enjoy our
activity? (Yes) What do you feel right now? (Happy/tired) Among the five
movements, which do you think is the easiest to demonstrate? (Walking)
How about the difficult one? (Galloping) Everyone, thank you for your
cooperation. Let’s call it a day. Good bye class! (Good bye and thank you,
teacher Key)
