I disagree, I believe that if the government ever decide to reinstate ROTC as a subject, then it shouldn’t
be mandatory. There’s no reason to make it mandatory, since unlike some countries like Korea, there’s
no actual issue in the Philippines that requires us to make all college students part of the reserve army.
In the first place, with the current state of our country I don’t think we can afford to effectively train
millions(?) of students. I also believe that with how technology is developing at an astonishing rate,
numbers wouldn’t matter supposed that a war occurs. Last reason is that I’m a firm believer in an
individuals freedom, so I see this as a violation of freedom.
