2023 Global Digital Economy Conference Sino-Singapore Digital Economy Forum BACKGROUND Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan met Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Secretary of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee Yin Li today. They reaffirmed the longstanding relations between Singapore and China, which had remained strong even amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. They discussed how Singapore and Beijing can deepen cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including on the economy, research and innovation, urban planning, as well as people-to-people and cultural exchanges. The Singapore edition is a precursor to the main conference, which will be held in Beijing in July, and reflects a strong push for greater cooperation between Beijing and Singapore in the fields of digital economy, technological innovation, and urban governance.
