The Liberation of Paris
In 1944, after conquest of Paris by Nazis, Hitler went there and
he was happy for this won. Paris was the summer for Nazis
soldiers after four-years hard war.
General Charles de Gaulle- Parisian commander, he was in
London, after get help from Churchill and other leaders; in BBC
Radio he gave speech. In this speech he talked about for people
who wants to be free from Germans. After that people in Paris
and most of the France made an organization named French
Résistance. They started some actions for their country but they
didn’t have weapons, so they bought, or for free they got guns
from Allies Armies. At this time the North Africa Battle ended
and U.S Army is coming from south and they got some areas
from Nazis in France. At this time Hitler established a
government for Paris and it’s leading by Vichy. Vichy France
started confronting French Résistance with helping from Police.
But they did not retread, and every day they were stronger than
yesterday. Hitler knew that they can not have the Paris and
France, because of The people army and Allies from (U.S)
south. So Hitler told to Vichy: “if we can not stay in France and
have it, we have to destroy it.” however, we have to know this is
not the main war.
On August 19, 1944 the main war started in Paris between
French Resistance and Nazi army. After hours Police joined to
French Resistance with 20,000 person and with a lots of weapon
and guns.
Until 24 August, 1944 they fought together, in 25 August U.S
army arrived near to Paris but they didn’t want go to Paris they
wanted go to Berlin, after General Charles de Gaulle called to
the commander of the army who was in the France, he wanted to
they go to this war and help Parisians, he went to the city was
near the Paris and talked to the commander couple of hours. And
commander decided go to the Paris and help them in this
liberation. They went there with their tanks and a lots of
soldiers. In 25 August, 1944 this war ended and this Parisian
liberation won.
Parisian with their leader, General Charles de Gaulle celebrated
this won.
