About The Author
39
INTRODUCTION
Publishing traditionally refers to printed works, such as hard
cover or soft cover books, newspapers, and magazines or other
documents. Now there are many more options such as publishing
online, in websites, print, CD, DVD, flash drives and other
electronic storage devices, e-books and apps.
In the past books were manually written without electronic aid
and this is referred to as analogue. This was a tedious endeavour,
initially done on tablets of stone, then hand written on paper,
then on manual typewriters and finally on computers. The earlier
versions took a long time to be published, but in recent times,
book writing has entered a new era in which digital e-books
has made book writing simple and easier in meeting both the
aspirations and goals of the writer as well as impacting lives
in a global setting. Now we are talking of the author directly
publishing without the aid of the printing and publishing
companies. This is were we are today.
VII
CHAPTER ONE
INTRODUCTION TO BOOK
A
book is a medium for recording information in the
form of writing or images, typically composed of many
pages (made of papyrus, parchment, vellum, or paper)
bound together and protected by a cover. The technical term
for this physical arrangement is codex (plural, codices). In the
history of hand-held physical supports for extended written
compositions or records, the codex replaces its predecessor, the
scroll. A single sheet in a codex is a leaf and each side of a leaf is a
page.
A book is a written or printed work consisting of pages glued or
sewn together along one side and bound in covers.
Looking at a book, you see that it is a putting together of ideas in a
particular format.
A book is a collection of ideas and information by someone that is
meant to impact knowledge to whoever reads through.
A book is a collection of ideas, views on a certain topic or story
pertaining a certain person(s) put together in a written or audio
format.
You can add your own definition of a book to your notes, please.
However, in this digital age the book is changing because we now
have electronic books.
Electronic books. E-books. This is the CRUX of this training.
Electronic books are books that are accessed or read, from or

through an electronic gadget.
Amazon pays royalties for your published books.
They are books found on computer systems, in databases. We can
read them, not by holding the physical printed hard copy in our
hands, but by reading from a gadget (phone, laptop, tablets etc)
that is, the book loaded on it.
And you can publish any write up.
We can search for more definitions or descriptions of electronic
books and add to our notes.
Who or What is an author?
An author is someone whose written work has been published.
In addition to producing published work, people who write are
considered authors when they originate the ideas and content of
their written work.
Note that there is a subtle difference between an author and a
writer.
Now let us talk more on books.
Types of Books
In a broad sense Books can be classified into *Fictions and NonFiction.
However for the purpose of our training, we shall classify Books in
forms of production.
So we have books classified as:
Kindle/e-Books:
Kindle can hold thousands of books at one time. With a kindle,
this is easily made possible.
Once your work is not published then you are a writer.
Not to mention that it is lightweight in comparison to regular
paperbacks.
Now one subject that goes with books is publishing.
That is one classification.
Another is the: 2. E-book
What is the e-book?
What is publishing?
Publishing is the job of editing, creating and marketing of written
and recorded material and software.
An example of publishing is creating copies of books for a mass
audience. It means to make information and literature available
for the public to view.
Publishing involves the process of producing and distributing
literature so that the public can have access to it.
Amazon has made it easy to publish your books.
More so, you publish by yourself and it is totally free and within
minutes!
An eBook is an electronic version of a traditional print book that
can be read by using a personal computer or by using an eBook
reader.
Paper Backs:
A paperback, also known as a soft-cover book, is a printed book
that is bound together with glue and a cover made from flexible
cardboard. There is no dust cover included on a paperback.
Hard Cover book:
A hardcover or hardback book is one bound with rigid protective
covers.
The beauty of it is that your published books which are
immediately on World market and can be purchased from
anywhere in the world.

ISBN (Book) /ISSN (Serial used in journals): Peculiar number

CHAPTER TWO
THE BASIC PARTS AND SECTIONS OF A BOOK.
A
book has basically 3 parts:
1. The front matter
The preliminary areas in the book before the main part of
the book.
The cover page of the book; the title, the copyright page: This gives
authorization to the author.
Barcodes are found at the back cover of the book.
Dedication: The reason with which a book has been written.
Acknowledgement: Appreciation and recognition.
Epigraph/Prologue
Table of Content: This is the guide to the content of the book. This
is very important especially for voluminous books.
Introduction/Abstract should be written after the book has been
completed, as it gives the summarizing idea of what the book is
about.
2. The Interior: The main body of the book. Chapters; chapter 1 to
the last chapter.
3. The Back Matter:
Blurb or About the Book is a short description of the content of the
book. Description of what the book is about.
The back matter also contains information about the author
written in a third person singular pattern.

and a reader can understand what to look forward to.
Female leading characters are more liked
CHAPTER THREE
THE BESTSELLERS
Not surprisingly, novels that have female protagonists are more
likely to win awards compared to books with intersex or male
leads.
Don’t lose focus
To keep readers engaged, good authors focus 30% of their books
on one or two topics – anything more can confuse the readers.
A
bestseller is a book or other media significantly noted
for its top rated selling status, with bestseller lists
published by newspapers, magazines, and book store
chains. Some lists are broken down into classifications and
specialties. An author may also be referred to as a bestseller if their
work often appears in a list. Also it means a popular product and
especially a book whose sales are among the highest of its class or
category.
Steps to make your EBook a best seller
Here is a checklist that you can follow to write exceptional content
to increase your chance of being featured as a bestseller novelist.
Clear, concise and coherent
To make your book more ‘readable’, write in a manner that your
target audience is familiar with. For instance, if you are targeting
young adults, don’t use jargons, words or phrases that are difficult
to understand.
Also, use fewer words in a sentence, and limit the use of
semicolons and exclamation marks – although you are welcome to
use question marks where they fit organically.
An appealing title
An author needs to put in a considerable amount of time when
finalizing a novel’s title as it is the first impression for the content
within. After all, a good title encompasses the essence of the book
6
For instance, 1/3rd of paragraphs written by John Grisham talk
about the legal system while Danielle Steel is known for focusing
on domestic life.
Choose a genre that does well
Selecting a good genre is very important; romantic novels account
for 25% of all bestsellers and 40% of book sales on Amazon.
Considering this, the time couldn’t be better for publishing a
romantic masterpiece where the author speaks to the audience on
an intimate level. Also, incorporating themes like death, marriage,
doctors, presidents, work and school could increase your chances
of writing a book that goes on to become fairly popular.
Pick a perspective and stick to it
This depends on the type of story and how you want to narrate it
– as a third person or a first-person. A majority of bestsellers, i.e.,
52%, are written from a third-person perspective while 39% are
written from a first-person perspective.
A good book editor is also essential. This article explains what a
book editor really costs.
Fiction or non-fiction
Only 5% of bestsellers are based on actual events; the rest are
fictional stories – however, sales of non-fiction stories have also
increased by 28.4% from 2013 to 2017.
This upwards trend shows that both can be viable fields, even
though fictional stories have an edge in terms of being listed as
7
MR. OYEDELE ABIMBOLA OJENIYI
bestsellers.
Gender of the author
As per bestsellers – female and male authors are represented
on equal grounds, but a majority of nonfictional bestsellers are
written by men.
CHAPTER FOUR
The takeaway here is that it’s important to write in a style that
appeals to everyone – your piece should not be gender-specific
unless that is your topic.
INTRODUCTION TO ELECTRONIC BOOKS
Strike while the iron is hot
Your book’s launch date should be picked carefully; it’s generally
not a good idea to launch during holiday seasons such as
Christmas as you will have to compete with a lot of authors.
For instance, if you want to launch a fictional Sci-Fi novel based
on a superhero, you can align your launch before, during or after
Comic-Con or other similar conventions.
Take Care of the Disabled
If your venue is appropriate for people with disabilities, there is a
high chance that your sales would increase by 25%. Ensure that
your launch event is wheelchair accessible, your website is userfriendly and your social media posts have good quality pictures.
N
ow let us talk about the concept of an electronic Book
(eBook). An electronic book is published online and
accessible in electronic format. It is a non-physical book
which you can access with a laptop or other electronic devices.
An electronic Book is a digital form of a printed book designed
to be read on devices like computers, tablets, or smart-phones.
E-books are vital marketing assets with multiple digital 'pages'
that delivers information to its reader. In addition, they are often
packaged as PDF documents so readers can share them.
It can also be described as a book publication made available in the
digital form or an electronic version of a printed book that can be
read on a computer or a specifically designed handled device.
Other ways to describe it include it is simply an electronic book,
meaning an online soft copy as opposed to the traditional hard or
physical copy.
An eBook is an electronic version of a book. It can be read in
computers, iPads and/ or phones. It is a book publication made
available in digital form, consisting of text, images, or both,
readable on the flat-panel display of computers or other electronic
devices.
Many online books can only be accessed with the permission of
authorized users except the free version is available for public use.
It is high time we broadened our minds! Go for what works in
order to remain relevant. It has become an electronic world.
8
9
MR. OYEDELE ABIMBOLA OJENIYI
How does it differ from a Paperback?
An eBook is a text presented in a format which enables it to be read
on a computer or handled device. An eBook is a non-editable book
that is converted and published online so it could be read on the
computer or handled devices.
Paperback is a book published in print form with a soft cover. It
is an eBook that is bound with a soft covering as opposed to hard
cover binding. A paperback book can be published online. But if
published as an electronic book only, no printable form will be in
circulation. Only electronic copy will be available.
A paperback book can have an electronic version, thus available as
an eBook but because it has a printed version, it is simply called
paperback book. When you publish a paperback book, you can
order copies of the book in prints from Amazon.
However, your book can have both versions which can be linked
together. So, people will have a choice of what copy they desire.
What can we say are the advantages of eBook?
DEMYSTIFYING THE ACTS OF E-BOOK PUBLISHING
7. Audio quality feature: This allows people to listen to e-books if
they are busy to read while driving.
8. Environmentally friendly option: It totally eliminates paper
printing process, saving printing cost.
9. Affordable in the long run: Cost is much less than printed
books, no paperback covers, no printing, no packaging cost and no
shipping.
What is ISBN?
An ISBN is International Standard Book Number. A printed
book without ISBN cannot be put in a Library. An eBook does
not necessarily need an ISBN but a paperback needs one for
identification in library, as you sell, publish etc. It was created in
1970 to define each work. It's often a 13-digit number. The first 3
digits in the 13 digit code usually refers to the region eg 978 is for
US as in +234 in phone is for Nigeria. No two books can have same
ISBN. Before 2007 they were 10 digits, but now 13 digits.
1. One device, many books: It is portable and light weight. One
does not have to worry about storage limit or space.
Contents of an eBook
2. Accessible & Convenient: It can be downloaded and stored for
later use in our different devices.
2. Copyright
3. Easy update: Contents are mostly cloud based (it can be updated
at any time); hence provide users with latest digital content. This
saves reprinting costs and time involved in the process.
4. Easy to share: EBook can be shared with multiple users at once
which is not possible with printed books. Students and employee
can use this feature to collaborate with their peers.
5. Augmented reality experience: Texts and images can be
augmented with 3-dimensional visual (3D) model of age, which
makes reading and learning a more immersive experience.
6. Easy vision: e-Readers can adjust the brightness of the screen
according to the time of day.

INTRODUCTION TO BOOK TEMPLATES AND FORMATTING
D
ocument formatting refers to the way a document is laid
out on the page—the way it looks and is visually
organized—and it addresses things like margins, spacing,
font size, presentation (like bold or italics), columns, font
selection, indentation, alignment, etc.
Note that the above definition refers to formatting of texts or
documents.
The way you arrange the content of your document is formatting.
The font size.
The margins whether wide or narrow
The characters
Whether bold, italics etc.
In short, the way you arrange your document is what formatting
is all about.
To publish e-Books, Amazon does not just accept manuscripts in
any form.
So you have to know how to format your manuscript/notes to be
accepted by Amazon.
Your manuscripts before it can be accepted by Amazon must take
a certain pattern and form.
All that being said, we shall now be taking the first step of
formatting your documents for e- Book Publishing on Amazon.

A writing template is a guide that a writer follows while writing
an article, a book, a letter, essay, etc. A template aims to help
the writer follow a specific structure and write faster. Writing
templates are important because they can save you lots of time if
you're a beginner. (Google)

Amazon uses the trim size 6 x 9, for computer templates
in centimeters: width: 21.59cm to 15.24cm Height 27.94cm to
22.886m.
However, the above Amazon template can be used without
adjusting as it already is in the required format.
In preparing our notes, we must follow the above stipulated
template, and certain elements for Amazon to accept it, namely:
1. Cover page
2. Copyright page
F
ormatting your manuscripts properly helps to improve
prospective customer or buyer experience which eventually
leads to good reviews and which in turn boosts your
book's sales. No buyer will value a quality content book without
proper formatting and editing. There are many word editing tools
you can use to format and convert your books to the various
formats that Amazon and Createspace accept for their kindle
and paperback books. You can use tools like Microsoft Word, etc.
to format and convert your books to these required formats. I
will give you a step by step guide with screenshots on how
use MS Word 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016 and later versions to edit,
format, proofread, insert header and footer texts, generate table
of contents automatically and convert your kindle and paperback
book interiors or manuscripts from docx to htm (for kindle Ebook) and pdf (for paperback) file formats which are among the
accepted book interior formats.

4. Introduction
5. Body (or chapters)
6. Back (about the author)
Also note that the order above is not sacrosanct, as you may alter
the order from items 3 to 5.
Your book must be 24 pages or more in the above stipulated
format.
You must be creative in preparing or writing your book. Don’t
forget you must give your book a title. A title of your choice which
should prepare your audience on what to expect when your book
is purchased.
Formatting
This is the layout of your template. This is quite technical and
attention should be paid while using the Amazon format.
This is the way your document looks and is visually organised. In
formatting, things like font selection, font size, presentation (bold
or italics), spacing, margins, alignment, columns, indentation,

CHAPTER SEVEN
CREATING A KINDLE DIRECT PUBLISHING (KDP) ACCOUNT
A
mazon KDP has taken the publishing world by storm.
For the first time in history, authors can self-publish a
book with the click of the button – and Amazon Kindle
Direct Publishing has made the process more accessible than ever.
CREATING A KDP ACCOUNT
In fact, it’s pretty easy to publish your book on KDP, which is why
it’s caught on so rapidly, especially for those who found traditional
publishing to be a roadblock in their author journey.
the next thing to do is to create a kindle direct publishing (kdp)
account on Amazon by following the step by step process outlined
below.
But, the process can be overwhelming – especially if you want to
make sure you’re doing it correctly from beginning to end, from
book formatting to book launch.
There are fourteen steps to creating a Kindle Digital Publishing
(KDP) account. The KDP platform is the platform used by
AMAZON for electronic publishing.
In this complete guide to all things Kindle Direct Publishing, we’ll
walk you through the process on how to publish a book using
Amazon’s KDP, starting with how to properly format your book
files.
The fourteen steps can be categorized into two parts.
By the end of this KDP guide, you will have your book available in
the Kindle Store, and ready to get into the hands of your readers.
After using the above principles and guide to write an eBook,
The Part I involve signing up and verification of your account for
new users or signing in for existent account holders.
Part II involves the filling of author’s information, tax
information and bank details.
How to create an account on KDP
1: Open your browser.
2: Type the link kdp.amazon.com
3: Click on sign up
4: Click create account
5: Then verify your account
6: An OTP will be sent to you
18
19
MR. OYEDELE ABIMBOLA OJENIYI
7: Enter it
8: This would take you to a form where you need to fill your
details.
9: Where you see postal code, please Google your local
government code (the place you reside.) and fill it there.
10: Fill your USA account number if you have one.
CHAPTER EIGHT
ADVANCED FORMATTING USING KINDLE CREATE APP
11: If you don’t have one, click on “I do not have a US account
number”
12: Fill the tax verification form.
13: Sign electronically by inputting your full name (the same
name you used to open the kdp account).
14: Submit, and you are done.
The following link says more about opening a KDP account:

he Advanced type of formatting is more professional than
the basic type described in the previous chapter. This
advanced type transforms your work, using an app. In this
case, it is the Kindle Create App.

The tax verification requires filling in your Tax Identification
Number (TIN). If you don’t have your TIN number, then go to the
interview section. You can choose to download the pdf report of
the tax application when you finish
Steps in using the Kindle Create app in editing
The Kindle Create App should first be downloaded from the Kindle
Direct Publishing website. It should be noted that the Kindle
Create app cannot be installed into a Personal Computer (PC) or
system that is not 64bit configuration. Don't use PC with 32bit
configuration. When you install Kindle Create App (installer) it
will hang for some time prompting you to accept restart or cancel.
20
21
MR. OYEDELE ABIMBOLA OJENIYI
If you choose any of the two options none will work. To solve this
problem, you either press (Control + Alt + Delete) buttons on your
keyboard to get a task manager menu to end the hanging (if you
are skilled up to that extent) or alternatively shut/restart your PC.
Put on your PC again and the problem of hanging Kindle Create
App initial start-up is solved.
Next is to run Kindle Create App by choosing option RUN AS
ADMINISTRATOR (not OPEN) and you are good to go. Next is to
open the Kindle Create app and click the “Create new” at the upper
right side of the page. Then click “Choose” in the lower right
corner of the page. This takes you to another page there you can
click on “Choose file”. This brings up the menu from the computer
that allows you to select the pre-prepared unformatted file that
you want to format.
The selected file will then be uploaded and opened in the Kindle
Create app. Note also that in the current version of Kindle Create
App, the top right last button is not PUBLISH (as in the previous
version) but it's now GENERATE in the new version of Kindle
Create app we are using. It's the generate button that brings out
your kpf file you MUST save to enable you have same kpf file
uploaded to your kdp.amazon.com account for particular book
you intend to publish.
How do I use Kindle Create app to format my raw file will be your
next question? This is the answer.
First watch the available tutorial videos or read the tutorials
provided in the Kindle Create app. Either will show that after you
have run the Kindle Create app as ADMIN,
Choose DOC downright button then browse to locate your kpf file
you had saved.
Click OPEN wait for KC App to do it's work.
You will see that at the end of her job done it will give you two
options either to REJECT or ACCEPT her arrangement.
I will add you reject it. However, if you had previously determined
the number of chapters, and what is suggested on the left side is

correct, then you can accept.
Now you have a job to do. If your choice was rejecting her
arrangement scroll to first chapter of you updated manuscript
click at the back of your first letter say C your cursor will be
blinking there behind the first letter then go up left menu of you
KC app then click last right option (I think is File) then go down
there click CONTENTS scroll up on that same FILE menu then click

of contents. For sub-headings under your chapters put the cursor
behind the first letter as usual while it is blinking there clicks the
second button Sub..... under CHAPTERS button, it will insert this
sub-heading into the proper place for you.
Lastly, look out for everyone first letter of your paragraphs.
Highlight the first letter not putting the cursor behind like we
did in first two instances. While the highlighted letter is ON go
to third button under PARAGRAPHS click on it, it will give you
the large bold letter you will appreciate in the arrangement or
formatting/ preparation of your work. Remember to use the same
button for all you have done. It is advisable to save bit by bit as you
progress.
To this till all chapters are formatted. The go to the menu on

How to pass the baton to others, teaching them how to
fish.
During the Master Class we were taught that having gained so
much knowledge we should be able to run with it and impact same
in others.
We could start with a little introduction or a sincere profile
introducing one self, making them comfortable. Make them
feel your excitement to pass this knowledge to them. Don’t be
apologetic, speak and teach with passion.
Be prompt; ensure there is no advert, no compromise in the class.
Engage them, call their names to bridge the gap, use the reward
system, and reward the active and intelligent ones.
While we engage them we should not forget to be humble and
punctual. We must be on time. We must also be passionate about
the program, about changing lives.
We should reminisce and relishing on the training experience that
we got from the Master Class, this would in turn spoor them to
look forward to it as well.

Those among us who in spite of having a good life are always
feeling a "lack of fulfillment" are actually looking for the elusive,
missing, non-existent Goat No.3.

WORDS OF OGAPATAPATA ON MABLE

ISSING GOAT, UNDERSTANDING ILLUSION - Theory of
the Missing Goat
The Missing Goat!?
It all started one lazy Sunday afternoon in a small town near
Toronto in Canada.
Two school-going friends had a crazy idea.
They rounded up three goats from the neighborhood and painted
the numbers 1, 2 and 4 on their sides.
That night they let the goats loose inside their school building.
The next morning, when the authorities entered the school, they
could smell something was wrong.
They soon saw goat droppings on the stairs and near the entrance
and realized that some goats had entered the building.
A search was immediately launched and very soon, the three goats
were found.
But the authorities were worried, where was goat No. 3?
They spent the rest of the day looking for goat No.3.
The school declared classes off for the students for the rest of the
day.
The teachers, helpers, guards, canteen staffs, boys were all busy
looking for the goat No. 3, which, of course, was never found.
Simply because it did not exist.
28
And don't let the nonexistent imaginary goat number 3 wastes
your time and happiness.
Enjoy life with what you have and who you are.
THE RICH FOOL & POOR IDIOT
These are frightening description, not when my good friend,
Joe Agbro, a seasoned journalist recently posted quoting Albert
Camus, that, *"It's a kind of spiritual snobbery that makes people
think they can be happy without money."* How correct or wrong
isn't my concern, as much as it aligns with the saying of the wisest
and richest man whoever lived, besides Jesus Christ - Solomon
Jesse, I quote; *"money is the answer to everything."* (Ecc. 10:19).
MENTIONING MONEY IRRITATES AN AVERAGE MAN, YET
No fewer than majority who started reading this post would have
quitted the moment I mentioned money. And those still reading,
majorly are already irritated. I doubt if up to 25% of those who
saw and started to read this charger (changer), would read to the
end.
Strangely, what irritates most men, they are actually in love with
it, no wonder, the next popular quote to that of King Solomon
Jesse, was made by brother Paul when he said; *"the love of money
is the root of all evil"* (1Timothy 6:10).
MEN LOVE (LIKE) MONEY, SO WHY DOES IT IRRITATE THEM?
The lack of money and the torment of that lack had taken
29

most men through, makes them to adopt the outward concept to
disdain and be irritated by the mere mentioning of money. And
to crown their failings, they painfully, find themselves hating and
disdaining those in possession of money.
Somehow, those in possession of money, wouldn't help matters
too, as they intentionally live the bigger than life, lifestyle backed
by swelling arrogance, a decent into idolizing money.
The aforementioned, is the background to this treatise, *THE RICH
FOOL AND POOR IDIOT*. If you're still reading, I'd be shocked if
you continue to the end. Notwithstanding, I'd continue to finish
my part of this business, which is to liberate you.

THE POOR IDIOT
Is that man or woman who relishes in poverty and discards
anything that will liberate them. Unlike the rich fool, the poor
idiot lives in contrast daily hoping and wishing for money, besides
a dying love for money, yet unconsciously disdaining money and
doing nothing to make money. Desiring the dainty of the rich, yet
ignoring the path to riches.
THE RICH FOOL
By their believe system and lifestyle, they live at variance to
anything attractive and attracting money. Wishful and hopeful
thinkers. They live increasingly under the torment of the lack of
money, they so love and adore, that had remained elusive to them.
My Mentor told the next story to elaborate; who the rich fool was
and is. He said;
Such lifestyles, could best be described as idiocies and idiotically
anachronistic.
"The ground of a certain rich man yielded an abundant harvest.
He thought to himself, ‘What shall I do? I have no place to store my
crops.’
JOURNEYING TOWARDS WRECKAGE
“Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and
build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain. And I’ll
say to myself, “You have plenty of grain laid up for many years.
Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry. But God said to him, ‘You
fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then
who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’
“This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for
themselves but is not rich toward God.” (Luke 12:16-21).
Hope you read that, the rich man bereft of character and
Godliness, is classified here as a fool. Such people become so rich to
discredit the existence of God and so are promoters of all manners
of ungodliness and anything that goes against the will of God.
David Jesse, the father to Solomon Jesse, said; *"The fool says in his
heart, “There is no God.”* (Psalm 14:1).
Now you can identify, the rich fool, what about the poor idiot?
The rich fool and poor idiots, are journeying towards wreckage
in a wrecked voyage. As the former openly displays his love for
money, the latter is dying from the love of money.
THE RECOMMENDED PATH
I would want to conclude with the admonition of brother Paul;
"Godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought
nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. But they
that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many
foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and
perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while
some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced
themselves through with many sorrows"* (1Timothy 6:6-7).
Note, this fact; "Riches will do you no good on the day you face
death, but honesty can save your life." (Proverbs 11:4).

WHO SHOULD PROPOSE - YOU AND THE FAT (LEAN) COW*
MISERABLE?
"They laid off 20 top shots today from my organization" Honey
pie. As I listened to her, she continued, "including one highly
problematic chap, thank God he got a house of his own". There and
then I plunged into a ponder mode, before I knew it, I was carried
away by sleep.
Once upon a time, in a faraway land, there lived a Chinese wise
man and his disciple. One day during their travels, they saw a hut
in the distance. As they approached it, they realized that it was
occupied, in spite of its extremely poor appearance.
WASHING AND THINKING
I woke up, as usual trapped in prayers, for that has remained my
routine as every other thing seemed failing. That done, I visited
the car and washing and thinking, I remembered why I wrote the
book, BEFORE THE EVIL DAY COMES - YOU MUST BE PREPARED.
I remembered I wrote, "as an employee, 5 things are likely to
happen to you:
ᬵ
ᬵ
ᬵ
ᬵ
ᬵ
You may be promoted
You may be demoted
You may resign
You may be sacked
You may die in the course of service"
I next admonished that "before you take up any job, be prepared
for the five possibilities". So yesterday, 20 among several others
were sacked. In my instance, I resigned from a fat paying job over
10 years ago and I've never looked back.
You know since I encountered that 5 possibilities, i don't get
myself trapped to anyone, as the underlying would show you the
dangers.
WHAT ABOUT YOU?
Are you the fat or lean cow? Which are you? And which are you
romancing with or have you proposed to?
The underlying story should quicken and reawaken you. I have
copied to share because of you, so carefully read and share To
Whom It May Concern, as it concerns You
THE STORY BEGINS
IS THERE A COW IN YOUR LIFE THAT IS KEEPING YOU
32
In that desolate place where there were no crops and no trees, a
man lived with his wife, three young children and a thin, tired
cow. Since they were hungry and thirsty, the wise man and his
disciple stopped for a few hours and were well received. At one
point, the wise man asked:
“This is a very poor place; far away from anything._ _How do you
survive?”
“You see that cow? That’s what keeps us going,” said the head of
the family. “She gives us milk, some of it we drink and some we
turn into cheese. When there is extra, we go into the city and
exchange the milk and cheese for other types of food. That’s how
we survive.”
The wise man thanked them for their hospitality and left. When
he reached the first bend in the road, he said to his disciple:
“Go back, get the cow, take her to the cliff in front of us, and push
her off.” The disciple could not believe what he was hearing.
“I cannot do that, master! How can you be so ungrateful? The cow
is all they have. If I throw it off the cliff, they will have no way of
surviving. Without the cow, they will all die!”
The wise man, an elderly Chinese man, took a deep breath and
repeated the order:“Go ahead. Push the cow off the cliff.”
Though outraged at what he was being asked to do, the disciple
had to obey his master. He returned to the hut and quietly led the
animal to the edge of the cliff and pushed. The cow fell down the
cliff and died.
As the years passed by, remorse for what he had done never left
the disciple. One spring day, the guilt became too much to bear
and he left the wise man and returned to that little shack. He
wanted to find out what had happened to that family, to help them
33
DEMYSTIFYING THE ACTS OF E-BOOK PUBLISHING
MR. OYEDELE ABIMBOLA OJENIYI
out, apologize, or somehow make amends. Upon rounding a turn
in the road, he could not believe what his eyes were showing him.
In place of the poor shack, there was a beautiful house with trees
all around, a swimming pool, several cars in the garage, a satellite
dish, and more. Three good-looking teenagers and their parents
were celebrating their first million dollars.
The heart of the disciple froze. What could have happened to
the family? Without a doubt, they must have been starving to
death and forced to sell their land and leave. At that moment, the
disciple thought they must all be begging on the street corners
of some city. He approached the house and asked a man that was
passing by, about the whereabouts of the family that had lived
there several years before.
“You are looking at it,” said the man, pointing to the people
gathered around the barbecue. Unable to believe what he was
hearing, the disciple walked through the gate and took a few steps
closer to the pool where he recognized the man from several years
before, only now he was strong and confident, the woman was
happy, and the children were now good looking teenagers. He was
dumbfounded, and went over to the man and asked:
“What happened?* I was here with my teacher a few years ago and
this was a miserable place. There was nothing. What did you do to
improve your lives in such a short time?”
The man looked at the disciple, and replied with a smile:
“We had a cow that kept us alive. She was all we had. But one day
she fell down the cliff and died. To survive, we had to start doing
other things, develop skills we didn’t even know we had. And so,
because we were forced to come up with new ways of doing things,
we are now much better off than before.”
My question is, WHO OR WHAT IS THAT ‘COW’ IN YOUR LIFE
THAT YOU NEED TO PUSH OFF THE CLIFF?
Many a time, we have let our dependence on certain people, things
or situation, create a comfort zone and limit us from achieving
greater things. Personally, I am very ‘cautious’ in nature and it
34
takes me a lot to let go and climb to another level. You may feel
terrible at first, but in the end, it will all be worth it.
From the conversation in the end, the man says that they had
to develop skills and do other things when their only ‘source of
survival was dead’. At times we need to lose that job to realize
that we can actually do well in business. Sometimes that business
needs to fail, to realize that we can do well in other things.
Sometimes a situation in our lives may have to fail for us to realize
that we deserve and can get better.
Is there a cow in your life that is keeping you miserable? If so, push
that cow down the cliff and please do not be tempted to go after it!
Have I talked to someone? Have you learned something?
What's that cow that's holding you? Will you push that cow down
the cliff?

THE BREAD OF SORROW
(That's a lot of people's daily meal)
Let me start this treatise from the questions you'd need to answer
ahead:
Because of what to eat and drink,
Aren't you tired of sitting on a dinning table, eating and being
insulted?
Aren't you tired of a job, where daily you're insulted, molested,
used, abused and fed the bread of sorrow after all?
You'd need to answer these and more ahead. Read.
DON'T BECOME A FINANCIAL DISGRACE
I recall my late boss told me sometimes ago in his office, that;
"Solomon, may your financial condition not shut your mouth
from speaking in the midst of your peers".
HOW MANY MOUTHS HAVE BEEN SHUT BY VIRTUE OF THEIR
FINANCIAL INEPTITUDE?
35
MR. OYEDELE ABIMBOLA OJENIYI
Quite a lot. Some women have become slaves to their
husbands, husbands reduced next to nothing because of financial
incapacitation. A lot enslaved by their landlords because of
rental indebtedness. I recall an assistant telling me how his
younger ones have been pulled from school because of financial
incapacitation. Young ladies dropping their dignity for a piece of
bread. Young boys trailing sugar mummies, because of a piece of
bread.
WHAT IS THIS BREAD OF SORROW?
When you loose your position of authority and you're trapped
under the mercy of others, who now accommodate you, cloth you,
feed you and have taken over your life. You're reduced worthless
of personal preference and decision. You live next like a beggar
and prostitute.
Your wife is the one running your home, and daily you're fed
the bread of sorrow. You've lost shame. On the other hand,
your husband treats you like a piece of rag, because he's held
you rampage by your financial incapacitation. Your partner has
become an idol, because without them, you can do nothing you're like a prisoner, your freedom is lost to your incapacitation.
Children starts to feed on this bread of sorrow from wicked
occultist of parents. Who deprive them of proper education. Some
would go the extra mile, as if in a factory, impregnating women
and unleashing abandoned children. Those who majorly end up
touts, hooligans, prostitutes and societal menace. Why won't
they? When from birth they've been fed the bread of sorrow.
REDUCED BY RELIGION TO BEASTS
Yes the bread of sorrow on the side of religion is disheartening.
Men reduced by religious ineptitude and have become shameless
living on gifts and rewards. Many now have their wives
overworked to cater for the homes.
I've always maintained, that God didn't meant his house a place
where you go and sleep or succour yourself, when others are
sweating it out on the street - it's meant to be a place of worship.
36
DEMYSTIFYING THE ACTS OF E-BOOK PUBLISHING
He first gave you the life to live and within it to serve him and not
to abandon the former to become passive, idle, unproductive and a
societal nuisance. Because of your financial incapacitation.
HOW DO YOU MANAGE TO CONTINUALLY EAT THE BREAD OF
SORROW?
Aren't you tired, of continually sexually abused because of what to
eat and drink?
Aren't you tired of sitting on a dinning table, eating and being
insulted?
Aren't you tired of a job, where daily you're insulted, molested,
used, abused and fed the bread of sorrow after all?
You're daily living a life of hide and seek. A lady had to quit her
job, with fat pay but packed with unhealthiness. There you are,
managing nonsense. And so turning everything around you to
nonsense. Your spouse have lost their respect. Your children are
treated like a piece of rag, because you've shamelessly continued
to feast of the bread of sorrow. Some women now forced into
sexual sins, all to earn the bread of sorrow.
THERE'S A WAY OUT
Jesus gave an illustration of one of your kind. He called him the
prodigal son. A child from a wealthy home, who ended dragging
swine's meal with them. Until he spoke with himself.
So speak to yourself. "I will return to my father, I will beg him.
Father accept me even as a servant. I know you'd treat me best".
Guess what, the young man ended being celebrated. You must do
same by recognition of the horror of the bread of sorrow. Look for
a proper job. Return to God and plead for mercy and God, your
Creator would turn the table around.
You'd become creative, industrious, productive and your respect
and honour restored. Home and abroad.
