The gecko is a very unique and colourful lizard. It can be found in many
habitats, usually in warm climates. The gecko is an omnivore. It likes to feed
on fruits and insects.
The gecko makes noises such as chirping, barking and clicking when it
feels threatened or to attract its mate. Besides that, its tail has special
features that help it to balance its weight as they climb branches and to
store fat. The tail also helps it to camouflage itself. If a predator attacks, the
gecko will shed off its tail.
Most geckos are noctural, which means they are active at night. A
female gecko lays its eggs in leaves and barks. One interesting fact is that
most geckos do not have moveable eyelids. They keep their eyelids clean
by licking it with their tongue.
