Should bullies be sent to special institutions? Although bullying is very common in all schools worldwide and difficult to deal with, these bullies should not be looked upon as outcasts, but to be viewed as a person. I believe that bullies should not be put into special institutions. Bullies can be seriously affected by the treatment they might get from being in a special institution. These children can in turn be ridiculed, publicly shamed and treated as outcast by their peers and possibly even their parents. This can cause depression, low self-esteem, anxiety. The worst possible scenario that can happen would be suicide due to this treatment. The parent/parents can also be shamed due to their child being in the special institution. This would be humiliating for the parent(s), and they can also be shamed and frowned upon by other adults. This would happen as other parents may see this as the parent(s) not raising their child properly. The parent may even take out their anger on this on the child by either physically or verbally harming them. Finally, I believe that instead of a special institution, the child should go to a counsellor/therapist instead. This can greatly help the child who is bullying others, as they have someone who can listen to their issues, especially if they have something going on at home or elsewhere. The counsellor/therapist can also help the child with their issues as well as their behavior towards others. This way everyone can benefit from this and also the bully can change the way they act towards their classmates. Although bullying is always frowned upon and shamed, these children should not have to be ridiculed and seen as outcasts by being put into a special institution, and should instead be treated with more importance.
