Common Complaints:
I feel like I'm not getting called on as much as some of the other delegates even though I have my placard raised...
Solution 1: Consider seating - try moving close to the center aisle, a few rows away from the front of the room!
Solution 2: Motion for a moderated caucus - if your motion passes, you get to speak first!
Solution 3: Send a note to the DAIS/Chair and ask to be recognized!
Students aren't being collaborative while writing resolutions.....
Solution: Create an editable google doc and share it with your bloc/group to make sure everyone can write!
Common Questions:
How do I find other students to work with in my committee?
Answer: Send as many notes as you can - listen to speeches to find like-minded peers/delegates!
How can I assert my ideas over "power delegates" in my bloc/resolution group?
Answer: "Open up the Circle" - encourage sharing solutions/ideas one-by-one to make sure every voice is heard!
How can I come up with ideas for moderated caucus/impromptu speeches?
Answer: Listen, respond, & add to the points raised by other delegates - it shows that you're collaborating!
