DUELISTS DREAM: S1E1: THE NEW DUELIST Drama Mason Martel 2023 EXT. CITY PARK 1. EXT. CITY PARK We see Jackson walking through a park of Crestview in the early Sunday morning. He looks down at his phone to see the time, ten in the morning. He looks around and decides to sit down on a nearby bench. He angles his head up, closing his eyes and lets the spring morning sun shine down and warm him up from the colder night. He listens to the sounds in the park, a nearby dog parking as he chases a ball, a group of kids playing soccer down in a field, parents playing with their children, and... RANDOM DUELIST #1 I summon Dark Magician in attack mode! (Jack jumps at the action) With no monsters on your side of the field and your life points so low, I attack directly for game! Jack shivers at the sound and quickly stands up, shuffling his backpack on its single shoulder strap and leaves the park. He can still hear the cackles of the kids behind him, sending more shivers down his spine. He passes by more and more duelists, trying to ignore them all, finally tuning out the sounds of the park by putting in some earphones and walking away to the sound of the opening "Warriors" by Imagine Dragons. 2. BEGIN OPENING 3. INT./EXT. CRESTVIEW The opening matches much of the lyrics in the song, fading in on Jackson holding a deck of Duel Monsters cards as a Black Feather falls in front of him. CRESTVIEW Lily Chen back to back with her Sister Blaze look down and up, as the camera spins, zooming in on Lily looking shy and timid, while Blaze looks confident, powerful and ambitious. INT. DUELING ARENA 2. 6. INT. DUELING ARENA Kyle is seen holding his arms crossed and with an arrogant smile stretched across his face as the music swells to the climax. 7. INT. DUELING ARENA The camera zooms past all the side characters in order of introduction, starting with Mr.Takahashi, then Samantha, then Ryan, then Shadow, then Jennifer Kim and then finally David Nguyen. We then slow down on Kyle, then Blaze, then two hands come together as the camera spans around them to reveal Lily and Jack together looking into an open arena. The camera zooms out and we see the title: Yu-Gi-Oh! Duelist Dreams 8. OPENING END FADE IN: 9. EXT. TAKASHI'S CARD EMPORIUM An older man pushes his way outside his store carrying what appears to be a cardboard cutout of a Majestic Red Dragon. He struggles to unfold the whole cutout as the opening of his store draws near. Jack takes out his earphones as he notices the old man struggle and picks up the pace, jogging forward to help him out. Grabbing the bottom and unfolding it, he looks up to the old man. JACK (strains to open the cutout) You try and harder and you're gonna need to sit out the rest of the day Mr. Takahashi. MR. TAKAHASHI (chuckles) Please I am only 59, you look like you're barely keeping it together, did you not have your morning full english or something? JACK (huffs in frustration) I don't eat Full English's Takahashi,I didn't feel like eating this morning. The two finish setting up the display. Takahashi stands up and slaps his hand down on the display. MR. TAKAHASHI 3. MR. TAKAHASHI (Prideful) Ah, perfect, this new set will bring a new life to this game, have you seen the new cards? The reprints in this set alone, will promote the diversity this game needs. JACK (signs in regret) No sir, I haven't really had the time, tests just finished and my brain is just straight mush. Mr. Takahashi opens the door, a jingle of the door alert goes off. MR. TAKAHASHI Don't worry Jack, lets head inside, I need you to sort through some stuff and put them in binders, I can finish setting up inside. 10. INT. TAKASHI'S CARD EMPORIUM The two walk inside Takahashi's Card Emporium, and Jack takes a long look at the store. Bleach white tables fill most of the store, easily capable of holding up to sixteen players. The walls are with products and books on shelves. He walks over to the glass counters containing collections of Duel Monsters cards beautifully placed in protectors for customers to view. Behind the counter are older Duel Monsters sets and more expensive items. He walks on the soft carpeted floor and heads behind the counter into a back room. Flicking on the light he sees more shelves filled with opened and unopened boxes, littering both the shelves and the floor. Jack looks around for a box before sticking his head back out... JACK Hey, whats the name of the set?! All I see is the brown ocean of cardboard boxes. MR. TAKAHASHI Absolute Powerforce, I got 10 cases, they should be stacked next to each other! Jack turns back to the cluttered mess and begins to look through finally pulling out a single case and stepping back out. JACK Here ya go, I'll get to those cards now, where are they? MR. TAKAHASHI 4. MR. TAKAHASHI There over there behind the counter, use the trade binder for the red sleeved ones and the personal binder for the rest. Takahasi points out to a collection of piles mixed with blue and red card sleeves. Jack takes off his backpack and sweater putting them to the side. He grabs the piles and pulls out a pair of binders, and gets to work. 11. INT. TAKASHI'S CARD EMPORIUM As he's sorting through the blue and red sleeved cards, he looks up to see Mr. Takahashi taking out smaller piles of cars in singular colored sleeves. Jack looks up at the nearby clock to see the time, 11:10 am. The store was open. He walks around the counter and flips the open sign over, but as he moves to walk back Mr. Takahashi calls him over. MR. TAKAHASHI Hey Jack, come here. Jack walks over and he sees the two piles, a pair of Duel Monster decks. MR. TAKAHASHI (CONT'D) You know, you've been working here part time for a few years, and yet I've never seen you even play with these cards. Why? JACK (flustered) Well, I mean, I've got school, and I can't have distractions with my learning, trying to get that higher education and all that. MR. TAKAHASHI (questioning) And what kind of higher education do you want, its the end of your senior year. Got any aspirations? JACK (giving up) Yeah, I have no idea. In truth sir, I've wanted to play, but every time I try to, I get weird. MR. TAKAHASHI Weird how? JACK 5. JACK I get, shivers, goosebumps, the heebie-jeebies. I just feel uncomfortable. At this point it seems like the cards just don't like me. MR. TAKAHASHI (chuckling) My boy, the cards don't hate you, you just don't have any confidence in the game. Its understandable. It can be confusing and a struggle for the less strategic of our people. Doesn't look like we'll get any early customers, why don't we play a game while we wait? JACK I don't know, I don't know anything about Duel Monsters, I don't understand anything about it. MR. TAKAHASHI Yes, you don't have to repeat, listen. The scariest things in life, are the things we never try. Unlike jumping out of an airplane, this won't kill you. JACK (mumbling) I don't need to add the fact there is a parachute on their back JACK (CONT'D) Fine, how do we play? Mr. Takahashi puts away two of the piles and leaves two on the counter. MR. TAKAHASHI First, we must pick our decks, in front of you are the simplest to learn and my two favorites. Pick either and I'll teach you from there. Jack nods and looks down. As he does, the cards slowly start to warp and move in front of him. He slowly moves his hands over the two decks. Over the orange deck, his arm shivers as if something small and rough is moving over his skin. He moves his hand over to the other, and he hears the caw of birds. Picking it up and turning it over he sees the card: Blackwing - Gale, the Whirlwind. JACK 6. JACK Some kind of bird deck? Are my monsters able to fly over and attack my opponents directly? Mr. Takahashi raises his eyebrow as Jack speaks some of the jargon of the game. MR. TAKAHASHI (chuckling) No no no, thats some of the rules the children in the playground play with. The Blackwing cards are more built around bird swarms, like the formations in the sky and the groups in the street. You flood your field and destroy their resources. Jack nods actually understanding the idea. JACK Alright, well how do we play? MR. TAKAHASHI Well, we'll start simply. Mr. Takahashi teaches Jack the rules of the game, and after a few practice games, Jack breathes out a sigh of relief. MR. TAKAHASHI (CONT'D) You alright? You look well, actually more relaxed than you've ever been in this building. JACK (nodding) Yeah, exactly what you said. He looks down at his cards, and still hearing the caw of the birds. He nods, JACK (CONT'D) I want a challenge sir, I want to duel you. Mr. Takahashi raises an eyebrow and looks at the clock. Twelve PM. He looks back, MR. TAKAHASHI Alright, but I'll have to use my best deck. Jack nods as the two walk away from the counter and sit down. INT. TAKASHI'S CARD EMPORIUM 7. 12. INT. TAKASHI'S CARD EMPORIUM The two sit down at a nearby table with a good view of the front door. They start shuffling their decks and Mr. Takahashi looks right into his eyes, MR. TAKAHASHI I worry for your mental abilities Jack, just picking up a gain you were afraid to play, and taking on a veteren? I've won a few regional tournaments in my day. JACK So, when stone tablets were all the rage. Mr. Takahashi growls as they finish and put their decks down. They both draw five cards. MR. TAKAHASHI You can go first kid, lets see what you've learned. Jack draws a sixth card from the top of his deck, looking down he thinks JACK (VOICE OVER) Alright, lets see, good removal, and a few options. Jack then shivers, looking up to Mr. Takahashi, he senses something, he feels that Mr. Takahashi is almost projecting what his deck does, something fast, and something old. JACK (CONT'D) Lets test the waters, I place two cards face-down, and then I normal summon, Blackwing - Shura the Blue Flame. And then I use the effect of my Blackwing - Bora the Spear, if I control a "Blackwing" monster other than Bora, I can special summon this card from my hand. Then I end my turn. MR. TAKAHASHI Good plays, a strong opening, but nothing that can't be beaten. I draw. Takahashi looks at his hand, and goes deep into thought for a moment before making a move. MR. TAKAHASHI (CONT'D) I will just place four cards facedown and end my turn. JACK (VOICE OVER) 8. JACK (VOICE OVER) Four cards? In the test games, he only ever put one defensive card face-down, and normal summoned a monster. Something isn't right, lets see. JACK (CONT'D) Before the end of your turn, I don't trust what you have there, I activate my trap card, Dust Tornado. I destroy your middle set card, and set one from my hand. MR. TAKAHASHI You destroyed my Waboku good choice. JACK (VOICE OVER) Waboku, that protects him and his monsters from destruction, lets see whats next. JACK (CONT'D) I activate my next set card, the spell card Mystical Space Typhoon. I target your left most set card and destroy it. Mr. Takahashi lets out a low moan of frustration as he moves his card to the graveyard, revealing the trap card Jar of Greed. JACK (VOICE OVER) Jar of greed? Oh no, if he's running that with protection filling the field, he must be searching for something, some kind of win condition, but I wonder what it is? JACK (CONT'D) I draw, I enter the battle phase, Shura the Blue Flame attacks your defense position monster. Mr. Takahashi smiles as he flips over the monster Emissary of the Afterlife, and moves it to the graveyard. MR. TAKAHASHI Fortunately for both of us, when this monster is sent to the graveyard, we can both add a level one to three monster to our hands from our decks. JACK 9. JACK Well before that happens, Shura's effect activates, allowing me to special summon a Blackwing monster with fifteen hundred or less attack points to the field, and I name, Vayu - The Emblem of Honor, in defense mode. MR. TAKAHASHI Well thats all fine and dandy, since you clearly have no other monsters that fit my effects bill, only I benefit, I add, Right Leg of the Forbidden One to my hand. JACK (VOICE OVER) The Forbidden One? I know what his plan is, there are only three ways to win a duel. You can reduce your opponents life points to zero. You can make your opponent draw out their entire deck, or you can have all five pieces of Exodia the Forbidden One in your hand at once. Thats one peace, I need to end this fast. JACK (CONT'D) I continue my attack, with Bora the Spear, he attacks you directly! Mr. Takahashi puts a hand up MR. TAKAHASHI Not so fast, I activate the effect of Battle Fader in my hand. When I'm attacked directly, I can special summon it to the field and end the battle phase. He places the card face-up in defense position. JACK Well I'm not done yet. I summon, Kalut the Moonshadow to my field, and now I perform a Synchro Summon. MR. TAKAHASHI Oh? You get any better at this game and you'd might as well enter the pro circuit, what monster will you be summoning? JACK 10. JACK Thanks Takahashi. I tune my level one Vayu the Emblem of the Moon, my level four Bora the Spear and my level 3 Kalut the Moonshadow together, to Synchro Summon, Stardust Dragon. MR. TAKAHASHI Ah, one of the best cards in the game now, but as you've already ended your battle phase you must be done your turn. Jack nods at his notion. MR. TAKAHASHI (CONT'D) Well, I draw. I'll start by setting one card face-down. And then summoning my Cyber Valley in attack mode, but it won't be around for long. I activate one of its special abilities, I can target itself and one additional monster on my side of the field, removing them both from play, and draw two cards. I target my Battle Fader as the second target. Mr. Takahashi draws the two cards and smiles. Jack feels a surge of fear as he watches. JACK (VOICE OVER) I can tell, he's drawn another piece, I hope he doesn't draw anything else. MR. TAKAHASHI Well, no monsters to summon, I'll just place another face-down card and end my turn. JACK I draw! What? Jack looks at the card he's drawn and his eyes widen. JACK (VOICE OVER) Mr. Takahashi told me that every deck nowadays has a boss monster, either in their Main deck or the Extra deck, Blackwings boss monster is a Synchro monster in the Extra Deck, but there is also one in the Main, but he never told me, but now I have it. JACK (CONT'D) 11. JACK (CONT'D) Well, you wanted a quick duel, and now you've got it. Due to the Synchro summon of my Stardust Dragon, I now have three Dark monsters in my Graveyard. Which allows me to special summon this, Dark Armed Dragon! Jack places the card down and Mr. Takahashi audibly gasps, MR. TAKAHASHI What? I thought I took that card out, its too valuable to put in a deck like yours. JACK Well your mistake, is my gain, I activate its effect. I can banish a Dark monster in my Graveyard, to destroy any card on your field. So I banish Kalut, to destroy your left most card. MR. TAKAHASHI Well, then I activate my traps, first I activate the trap you've chosen, Good Goblin Housekeeping, allowing me to draw one card, but now I activate a chain link, by activating another trap card Waboku. But thats not all, I add, Reckless greed to the chain link. Now as you don't know, I will explain. When you chain a cards activation, that goes on something called a link, that link is then destroyed by resolving the effects of cards that were activated last, so first I'll draw two cards from Reckless Greed. Then, my Waboku resolves and now I will not lose any life points and my cards won't be destroyed by battle. And finally, by Goblin housekeeper resolves, I draw one card, and return another to my deck. Jack sighs, his win still not assured as long as his opponent still has life points and cards to draw. JACK I end my turn. MR. TAKAHASHI Hm, I'll place two more cards facedown and end my turn. JACK 12. JACK I draw. I summon, Blizzard the Far North in attack mode. Blizzards effect when he's normal summoned, allows me to special summon a level four or lower Blackwing monster from my graveyard in defense position. MR. TAKAHASHI I activate another chain link, by activating my Reckless Greed, I'm allowed to draw two more cards before your monster is summoned. He draws his cards, but his eyes go wide, Jack see's this and pushes through. JACK I summon Bora back to my field, and then Tune my level two Blizzard and my level four Bora, to Synchro Summon, Blackwing Armed Wing! This may not be the strongest Blackwing Synchro but it will be enough. You wanted a quick duel so lets not keep dragging this on, I activate Dark Armed Dragon's effect twice. I banish two Dark monsters and destroy your set cards. MR. TAKAHASHI Damn. He reveals and moves to the graveyard, two cards that won't help him now. JACK Time to risk it for the biscuit, all my monsters will attack your directly, for a total of ninethousand four-hundred life points of damage. Mr. Takahashi slumps back in surprise. MR. TAKAHASHI I feel like I just got scammed, are you sure you've never played this before? You're plays were fine, but your intuition, knowing the right cards to destroy, and to summon, with the few miss plays you made, you played like an experienced veteren. JACK 13. JACK Common Mr. Takahashi, I just got lucky. Plus, lets be fair, you built this deck. If I didn't draw the Dark Armed Dragon, I would have lost for sure. MR. TAKAHASHI Perhaps, but once a great deck is built, its all pilot skill. You know, if you wanted a better challenge, our local tournament is in an hour if you wanted to partake. Jack stands up collecting his cards. JACK No sir, I've had enough fun for today, I need to get back to sorting. Thanks for the game. Jack walks back to the counter when the door opens. The ring of the doorbell is the only warning he has, as he's quickly knocked to the ground. His cards fly into the air as he lands on his rear, and this stranger lands on top of him. He looks up and attempts to push her off, but then notices, fiery red hair. She looks up to him, their faces closer than they should be. They both blink as they stare at each other for the few moments of shock. She then quickly uses him to push off and stand up. LILY Sorry! I'm such a klutz, let me help with these. JACK Oh, uh thats not necessary, you're fine. Lily quickly gets down and starts picking up the cards, Jack kneeling down and helping her. LILY Blackwings? Are you new to the area? I don't think I've seen you around here before. JACK No, I work here, I just work during the week in the later hours, and I never work the weekends. LILY 14. LILY (frantically excited) Oh wow, you work in a game store? That sounds amazing, you can get first hand access to all the new cards, have you opened up Absolute Powerforce yet? That Drill Warrior is looking like an absolute menace! I actually came here to open up a box, really wanting to stay ahead, are you playing in the tournament, Blackwings are really fun but I prefer Lightsworns. Jack finishes picking up the cards and looks back at Takahashi who gives him a grinning thumbs up. He then cuts her off, JACK Yes. I am here to play, but I didn't think to get anything new. LILY Oh well, if you want, did you want to open my packs with me? Itll make it quicker so we don't get in the way of everyone else. JACK Yeah sure. The two walk over to Takahashi as he's opening up the delivery box. LILY Hey Mr. Takahashi, can I get one of those boxes and a pack of sleeves, your choice on color. He nods as he takes out the plastic wrapped box and pushes it towards her. He then walks over to the several hanging packs of sleeves and grabs a pack of white ones, handing it to her. MR. TAKAHASHI White sleeves for a new beginning. I'll put you down on the list for locals today, and I'll just take everything off credit. LILY Thanks, come on, whats your name? JACK Jackson, but you can call me Jack. LILY I'm Lily. INT. TAKASHI'S CARD EMPORIUM 15. 13. INT. TAKASHI'S CARD EMPORIUM The two go and sit down at a white table in the corner. Lily rips open the box and starts spreading the packs out for each of them to open and look through. LILY (Excited) Come on! Yes! Lily quickly stands up in joy and triumph. JACK What? What? What did you get? Lily hands the card over, Drill Warrior, but the art looked funny as it shined. JACK (CONT'D) What is it? It looks weird. LILY Its an Ultimate Rare Drill Warrior, its super valuable, most collectors would jump at the opportunity to buy this off me. JACK Are you gonna sell it? Jack looks down at the card, and eyes, it. He looks up, as he hears a drilling sound behind him, looking back he only see's a white wall. LILY Whats wrong Jack? You look like you just saw a ghost. JACK (chuckling) Uh no, just got a chill up my back, thought someone was giving me eyes, but clearly not. LILY Oh yeah, I get that feeling too, though usually there is someone staring, gets annoying fast. JACK I can see why you've chosen the corner, barely any room to fit back here. LILY Yeah. The door bell dings and groups of people start walking in and 16. The door bell dings and groups of people start walking in and heading to Mr. Takahashi. The silence of the store is quickly filled by the other customers walking in, signing up for the event and setting up at their tables. After only a few minutes the building is full, more people sit down at Jack and Lily's table and they make some small talk before Mr. Takahashi stands up on a chair with a microphone. MR. TAKAHASHI Alright, thank you all for coming, we have another full house today, and a few new faces. We will have five rounds of swiss before we go to top cut, your match ups are on the projector. The round starts now, good luck! Everyone moves to get up, including Lily to look at the projection screen. Jack, follows looking ahead and sees his name, at the top at table one. Everyone starts moving around, RANDOM DUELIST #1 Hey good luck bro. JACK Oh, yeah you too. LILY Good luck Jack, maybe I'll see you at the finals. JACK Me too, good luck. Everyone moves around sitting at their seats, with Jack finding his table and sitting down. In front of him is his opponent, a rather well-dressed man who seems to have a rather large chip on his soldier. JACK (CONT'D) Hey man, nice clothes. JACKS OPPONENT Yeah thanks. Where's your playmat? JACK My what? JACKS OPPONENT Your playmat, the soft rubber bottomed mat separating our cards from the dirty table. Jack looks around at the other duelists and notices, he's the only one with a mat. JACK 17. JACK Oh well, I don't have one. I just started today. His opponent sighs as he rubs his forehead JACKS OPPONENT I hate newbies, you just had the worst luck meeting me here. JACK (smiling with a cheeky look) Well, I don't know. I think my deck and I are pretty good. JACKS OPPONENT Whatever, high roll? Jack's opponent picks up a pair of red six-sided dice and starts shaking them. JACK Yeah sure. Jack's opponent throws the dice, and they roll onto a five and a two. Jack picks up the dice and throws them too, they land on a four and a ten. JACKS OPPONENT Dammit, first or second? JACK I'll go first. Good luck! He ignores him and just goes to drawing, Jack does the same. CUT TO: 14. INT. TAKASHI'S CARD EMPORIUM Jack's opponent slams his fists down on the table, causing the table to shake. JACKS OPPONENT What?! How could you of known that! JACK What do you mean? JACKS OPPONENT Every card I've set you've been able to destroy without activating their effects, you're cheating! He quickly turns around to see behind him, another person leans over to speak RANDOM DUELIST #1 18. RANDOM DUELIST #1 Come on Kyle there's no need to make a scene, you lost everyone does. Kyle turns back to Jack his face turning dangerously to a deep shade of red. He gathers his things and stomps out of the building. Jacks stands up and moves through the tables, finding Lily in a duel with someone else. He heads to the counter to find Mr. Takahashi. MR. TAKAHASHI Ah we always get one of those. JACK Cute girls? MR. TAKAHASHI (chuckling) Thats always an opinion, I mean your opponents. We always get those snob elitists that think this is the pro circuit. Thankfully looks like Kyle was the only one. JACK Kyle? I didn't even know his name. And the other guy said it, hopefully I don't run into him again. MR. TAKAHASHI You'll always run into players like him, you handled it very well. What happened anyways? JACK He was playing a deck called Infernity's I just ended up getting lucky and popping all his trap cards. Was easy after that. MR. TAKAHASHI Infernity's weakness is their backrow. And their resource management just makes them lackluster. Jack nods and looks around, going to a nearby rack to find rolled up play mats. Looking through, they're mixed and a little confusing with their images. MR. TAKAHASHI (CONT'D) Whats wrong? JACK These mats are weird, what do you reccomend? Single color? Or with a monster on it. MR. TAKAHASHI 19. MR. TAKAHASHI Oh single colored. Less distractions during the game. Jack nods and takes one off the rack, he buys it then heads to his next match. JUMP CUT TO: 15. INT. TAKASHI'S CARD EMPORIUM The games have been played, hours have passed and the afternoon sun is low. It is the final two, Lily, and a player named David. They're game has gone long, with back and forths between them. David has a Call of the Haunted, a trap card keeping his Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon on the field, and a Koa'ki Meiru Drago next to him. On Lily's side she has a Gorz token, Wulf, Lightsworn Beast and Judgement Dragon her boss monster. Lily's life points are at five hundred and Davids are at fifty-seven hundred. He has just enough damage to beat Lily, but she has two cards in hand and he has none. DAVID Sorry Lily but you may have the field advantage, but I have the strength here. I enter my battle phase and attack your Wulf with my Darkness Metal Dragon. The difference between them is seven hundred which means I win. LILY Not exactly. Its true the difference between our monsters is great, but with this card, its in my favor. Lily places down a card called Honest. DAVID No way! LILY Yes way, during the damage step, I activate the effect of Honest. I send him to my graveyard, and boost my Wulf by the attack of your Dragon, destroying it and dealing twenty-one hundred points of damage to you. And since you have nothing else in your hand, or Drago is destroyed by its own effect, allowing me to attack you directly and end this duel. Everyone claps as Lily and David clean up. DAVID 20. DAVID Good game Lily, I really fumbled that. LILY Don't worry, you're still knew but that Dragon strategy is incredible, if you were able to get more cards in hand, you'd probably win any game. Everyone goes up to receive their prizes, Lily getting an entire box of Absolute Powerforce. David receives half a box and the rest get divided out to the other winners, including Jack, who only won his first game, losing the next three convincingly. The store slowly clears out as Jack walks up to Lily. JACK Hey nice game Lily. LILY Thanks Jack, that was actually my first locals win and I was really excited. JACK Well congratulations. Hopefully I can take a locals soon. LILY You will, you just need more practice. JACK Yeah, well I'm gonna head home, this took a minute and I'm really hungry. LILY Yeah me too, my ride should be outside. JACK Oh I'll walk you out. LILY Okay! The two of them pack up her things and head out the door to see, a rather glamorous sports car sitting there, with a woman dressed in a leather jacket and crop top and satin pants. BLAZE There you are, I've been waiting forever, who's this? LILY 21. LILY Blaze, this is my friend Jack, Jack this is my older sister... Lily's sister walks up to them and holds out a hand to shake, Jack takes her hand shaking it. BLAZE Blaze Chen, Professional Duelist and older, hotter sister of Little Lily here. LILY (angry) Blaze, what the hell? BLAZE Oh I'm just messing around. Are you two together? LILY (blushing) No, we just met. BLAZE (flirty) Oh, well don't let him out of your sight, he's definitely a lady killer. You ready? Lily embarrassed, quickly nods her head and gets in the car. Blaze turns to Jack and hands him a small white card. BLAZE (CONT'D) Here, call me so I can get you in touch with Lily, she needs more friends. JACK Thanks. She grabs him by his shirt collar and pulls him close enough to let him see into his own eyes. BLAZE But if you think about hurting her, and I'll shove your deck so far up where the sun don't shine, you'll be spitting them into your morning coffee, understand? JACK (audibly gulps) Yes mam. BLAZE Good, see you around. She saunters to her car and drives away. Jack looks down at 22. She saunters to her car and drives away. Jack looks down at the white card and pockets it. Looking up in the sky, he smiles as the silhouette of a bird flies overhead casting a fast shadow over him before flying away. He heads back inside, as the camera slowly zooms out from the store, the song "Good Life" begins and the episode ends. FADE TO BLACK FADE IN: 16. ENDING START The ending has the song "Good Life" by one republic playing in front of concept art for the episode slowly fading in and out.
