Name: MINESSA S. TERMO Grade Handle: GRADES 7 & 8 Subject Handle: MAPEH, TLE, ENGLISH, FILIPINO Conduct an interview among 3 teachers (Elementary or Secondary) INCLUSIVE EDUCATION: 1. How do you implement Inclusive education? Answer: The learner’s individual differences and abilities surely affect the quality of teaching and learning processes. They may differ from their races, religions, social stability, and learning ability etc. We educators must cultivate to their heart and mind highlighting the peace concept of Inclusivity, wherein, the focal point of this is to let every learners enlighten and realize the value of unity a midst diversity. In connection to this, effective teaching-andlearning experiences comes from celebrating diversity in the classroom which it models inclusivity. Congruently, providing learning activities and assessment that are all developmentally appropriate are my utmost priority in implementing Inclusive Education. From Identifying the needs of students with different levels of abilities in the classroom to choosing effective strategies to address the diverse needs of the learners such as differentiated instructions, activities that model respect and acceptance, learning task that provides more opportunities for cooperation than competition, and more importantly, build a caring community in the classroom are some of my top approaches that are extremely helpful in the implementation of inclusive education. 2. Do you have an experience handling a student with Disability? If yes: Give at least 2 disablities Answer: In my almost two(2) years in service and even during my In-and-Off campus practice teaching, I have not handled student with disability. But if I encounter this kind of circumstance/s I would arduously exert my full efforts in providing necessary strategies to cope up with their learning needs and abilities. And I would gladly expand my teaching-learning resources through garnering reliable research study to appropriately address the demand of their developmental needs in my classroom premises to unfold their full potentials. 3. How do you deal with them in terms of; Disciplines Strategy Visual Aids If none: ( Hypothetical question) What if you have an experienced handling a student with Disability, how do you deal with them in terms of; Disciplines Answer: I would also treat them same way as my student now, to experience the reality of teaching-and-learning realm, although there is a bit distinction but we must not overly assimilate their disabilities. Enforcing non-threatening yet business-like approach, has been effective in accords to disciplining learners. Approach in which, specific classroom rules and procedures are clear and discussed, techniques to acknowledge and reinforce acceptable behavior are employed, and clear limits for unacceptable behavior are established and negative consequences for such are communicated. In that, discipline comes from within. Furthermore, for some who throws tantrums, since they are special this is normally observed,so extra patience is always our partner in combating the reality inside and outside the school premises and even in so many earthly related endeavour. In deed, we are built that way, to be patient. Strategy Answer: No single strategy/assessment/method/tool/task can assess all forms of learning. Same goes with how we can handle learners with special needs. So, we are highly expected to elicit variety of teaching and learning strategies to counter this challenging task to achieve the goal of our educative institution. Therefore, considering the Gardener’s Multiple of Intelligence in managing and learning development would be an asset for us to assess and mold our learners. A strategy that offer different ways which this will empower the use of varied assessment tools and task to somehow help the special needs of our learners. We knew that given they have special needs, surely they also have acquire special intelligence within themselves that only need scaffolding from us, teachers. We must observe varied learning styles which gives and opens opportunity to our learners to demonstrate learning that is aligned to their multiple intelligences and their learning style. Letting them makes feel comfortable and having fun while learning and allowing them to explore their learning style would be the best stepping stone for them to unveil their highest potentials. Visual Aids Answer: I would apply the theory of Cone of Experiences by Edgar Dale anchored to Garner’s Multiple Intelligences in selecting appropriate visual aid for my students. Wherein, they are interconnected in providing and identifying which visual aids must be used. I viewed visual aids as medium of learning that matches the learning style of a specific learner. For instance, if the particular special learner has special interest inclined with Bodily Kinesthetic intelligence thus performing or executing as Cone of Experience relates must be intertwined to achieve meaningful learning, and you can be the best visual aid for this instance, you will demonstrate specific skill to the learners first, then let them perform or execute and/or allow them to master the skill with your support and ultimately transfer of learning happens. Another instance would be, if you have visually impaired learner and he/she is linguistically inclined you can enforce an audio-type approach as your aid for learning and it will definitely help him/her master and advance his/her linguistic-related skill (pronunciation, vocabulary, sentence construction etc.) Moreover, for other special needs you can also use power point presentation for those special learners who easily learn throw images or visual representation to arouse learning. Or any techno-based visual aid to constantly alleviate learning as this teachno-age generation as pertains. Lastly, choose wisely the visual aid that significantly relevant to your learners’ needs. 4. Are this disciplines, strategies, and visual Aids are effective? If yes, Why? Answer: I would say, they will play important role in the effectiveness of the paradigm of teaching-and learning processes for they are the realities this profession is mirrored to. They are based from actual experiences in providing meaningful learning so they might be effective as I hopefully they are. If No, What are the reason? Answer: Might be there are still approaches or method which needs conduct of studies to dig deeper to resolve the turmoil of the educative milieu as concern. However, I am holding high hopes that through the evolution of this generation there are resolutions for all of this concerns.
