It is necessary to refer to these characteristics to ensure that the learners are being assessed towards the SYSTEMIC Systematic or systemic assessment means an assessment undertaken in a methodical and planned manner. It provides information on children's development and learning 21st Century Assessment: SYSTEMIC The 21st century is marked by several characteristics that make it highly systemic, with a focus on understanding complex systems and the interactions between different components. Some of these characteristics include: Systems thinking Sustainability Globalization Interdependence Resilience Complexity science Collaborative 01 Systems Thinking Systems thinking, which emphasizes understanding complex systems and the interactions between different components is becoming increasingly important in many fields of study and industries. 02 Sustainability The concept of sustainability, which involves considering the long-term impacts of human activities on the environment and society, is becoming more central to decision-making in business, government, and everyday life. 03 Globalization The increasing interconnectedness of the world, driven by technology and trade, is leading to a more systemic understanding of the global economy and the interactions between different countries and regions. Interdependence The recognition that different systems and components are interdependent and can have far-reaching impacts on each other is becoming more widespread, leading to a more holistic approach to problem-solving. Resilience The ability of systems to adapt and recover from disruptions and shocks is becoming increasingly important, as the world faces a range of challenges including climate change, pandemics, and geopolitical instability. Complexity Science Complexity science, which seeks to understand the behavior of complex systems and the emergence of patterns and phenomena, is becoming more important in many fields of study. Collaborative Problem-solving Addressing complex challenges often requires collaboration across different disciplines, industries, and sectors, and a systemic approach to problemsolving. THANK YOU!
