To: Jeremy Parker<jeremy.parker@gmail.com> Date: 19 May 2022 Subject: Why you should accept my father’s offer Dear Uncle, Hello Uncle! It is Saketh. How are you doing? I am doing fine. About 2 weeks ago, my Father told me that you had refused his offer of him donating one of his kidneys to you. I do understand your reasons for refusing the offer but I hope that my email can help you better understand my father’s motivation and why it would be a good choice to accept his offer. I understand the difficulties that you are going through and why you turned down his offer. Being on dialysis can be very troublesome as it makes one's life very restrictive. It limits the amount of things you can do and it is very inconvenient. Additionally, being the sole breadwinner for your family while being on dialysis may make it hard for your family to make ends meet and your family may be going through a trying time as well now. Dialysis is also very time-consuming as a patient on dialysis would be required to go to a dialysis centre to be hooked up to a dialysis machine on three separate days each week. This requires extra travelling and reduces the amount of time you can spend with your family. For this reason, my father’s offer would be tremendously helpful. You may be worried about the potentially dangerous effects of organ donation on the donor and this may be one of the key reasons for turning down his offer. However, after reading up more about kidney transplants, I had found out that the recovery time for a kidney transplant is only a mere six to eight weeks. Furthermore, even people with a single kidney can still live healthily and normally. Even the success rate for a kidney transplant in Singapore is more than 99 percent which would mean that the donor and the patient would most definitely be safe and in the hands of a professional doctor. One other reason you should consider accepting my father’s offer is that the waiting list for a kidney transplant is unfortunately very long at a minimum of five more years for a transplant and your immediate family is not suitable to donate a kidney to you. Therefore, by accepting my Father’s offer, you would be able to get a transplant as soon as possible and it would most definitely be faster than waiting on the waiting list. Even if you do wait in the waiting list, the chances of you getting a kidney suitable for you are quite low. On top of that, by receiving a transplant from someone you know well and trust, there is that little bit more peace of mind. My father is extremely willing to donate his kidney as he understands the difficulties that you and your family is going through and would like to help you solve them as it hurts him to see you suffer so much. It would also be devastating for all of us if you were not around. My father’s offer would be able to help you free yourself of the pain and be able to live life like you once did. You could go back to putting food on the table for your family and most importantly, I am confident that your family would be delighted to see you happier and healthier once again. From all that I have said, I hope you now understand better why my father’s offer is the best choice you have as it can help you a great deal in the shortest time. I really do hope that you accept his offer and I hope to hear from you with a favourable reply. With Love Saketh
