The Festival of Dragons in Krakow
Dear Ann,
How are you? Remember I told you that we were going to Poland on holiday
for a week. Well, we had a lovely time and visited a lot of interest places. We were
there for the Festival of Dragons, the most famous festival in Krakow, which
dedicated to Dragon that is the historical symbol of city. This festival was celebrated
in the first weekend of June since 2000. And it usually go on all weekend.
Before the beginning of the festival the heart of old city was decorated with
flowers and flags. The citizens from each area of Krakow made enormous colourful
dragons for parade.
This year the program of the Festival was very various. The guests could see
family picnic with dragons next to castle of Vavel, Gragons' parade along old town
streets, the show on the river Visla. I was amazed by this show. I had never seen
anywhich more grand show. It was something magic. On the river swam boats with
actors, who managed by huge flying and sailing dragons. How I understood, these
dragons were mading from canvas fabric. Big and small, funny and angry, kind and
colourful dragons were creating the fantastic atmosphere of holiday. In the evening
were laser show and firework displays.
It was wonderful time, we really enjoyed ourselves. You should try to go there
for the Festival of Dragons next year.
