A. INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES
1. Greetings
Good morning Class!
2. Prayer
Please stand up, let us all pray, and feel the
presence of our Lord. Gonzales, kindly lead
our prayer.
Before you take your seat, everyone kindly
arranges your chairs and picks up those pieces
of paper, and put them in the trash bin.
3. Checking of Attendance
4. Review/Drill
Are there any absentee/s today? I’m glad you
are all present today. That's great, class.
During our last meeting, we discussed the
effects of hazards in the workplace. How can
hazards in the workplace affect caregivers'
health? And Why is it important to identify
hazards and risks in the workplace?
B. DEVELOPMENTAL ACTIVITIES
1. Motivation
The teacher will ask the question;
Imagine you are a caregiver of a person with a
health condition. What are those potential
hazards or risks you may encounter in the
home, and how can you protect yourself and
the client from harm?
As a caregiver you must know how to use
PPE. For this activity, you need to know where
to place the equipment. All you need to do is
paste the correct equipment on the part of the
caregiver's body in the photo where it should
be placed.
2. Activity
“HELP ME TO FIND OUT!!”
I have here a picture for you to analyze and
find out what are the dangers that might cause
an accident. And what will you do if you are a
caretaker of this girl? What first thing do you
need to consider before you take an action?
3. Analysis
The teacher will ask the following questions;
Based on the picture, as a caregiver, why is it
important to identify the hazards in your
workplace area?
Can you give a scenario that may cause
danger to your client and you as well?
4. Abstraction
The teacher will discuss the following;
 Standard Safety Measures
a. Hand Washing
b. Use of Personal Protective Equipment
(PPE)
c. Cleaning and Disinfecting
Environmental Surfaces
d. Electrical and Fire Safety
e. Waste Management
 Evaluating Hazard and Risk
 Controlling Hazard and Risk
 Establishing Protocols in Workplace
Emergencies
5. Application
The teacher will group the students into 2
groups;
1st group will identify the hazards and risks
involved in providing care, and create a
checklist of the required PPE to address each
hazard and risk, through giving caregiving
scenario, such as taking care of an elderly
person with a chronic illness. They must
present their PPE checklist and justify the use
of each PPE based on OHS procedures.
