How can hazards in the workplace affect caregivers' health? And Why is it important to identify hazards and risks in the workplace? B. DEVELOPMENTAL ACTIVITIES 1. Motivation The teacher will ask the question; Imagine you are a caregiver of a person with a health condition. What are those potential hazards or risks you may encounter in the home, and how can you protect yourself and the client from harm? As a caregiver you must know how to use PPE. For this activity, you need to know where to place the equipment. All you need to do is paste the correct equipment on the part of the caregiver's body in the photo where it should be placed. 2. Activity “HELP ME TO FIND OUT!!” I have here a picture for you to analyze and find out what are the dangers that might cause an accident. And what will you do if you are a caretaker of this girl? What first thing do you need to consider before you take an action? 3. Analysis The teacher will ask the following questions; Based on the picture, as a caregiver, why is it important to identify the hazards in your workplace area? Can you give a scenario that may cause danger to your client and you as well? 4. Abstraction The teacher will discuss the following; Standard Safety Measures a. Hand Washing b. Application The teacher will group the students into 2 groups; 1st group will identify the hazards and risks involved in providing care, and create a checklist of the required PPE to address each hazard and risk, through giving caregiving scenario, such as taking care of an elderly person with a chronic illness. They must present their PPE checklist and justify the use of each PPE based on OHS procedures.
