HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT (HSE) POLICY HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT (HSE) POLICY STATEMENT We practise internationally recognised Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) standards at each of our operations and are fully committed to the pursuit of high product and service quality while ensuring no harm to people and no damage to the environment. HSE is deeply embedded in our business culture as the group continues to drive improvements in this important area. To meet our objectives, we will: • Ensure visible and supportive management involvement in all HSE matters • Comply with applicable HSE legislation and regulations, and apply responsible standards • Develop measurable HSE objectives and targets, and appraise and report our performance as a means of ensuring continuous improvements • Identify HSE risks arising from our activities and reduce them to the lowest practicable levels • Provide a safe working environment for all our employees and ensure personnel are trained to carry out their work safely • Take a systematic and structured approach to the management of HSE based on suitable management systems • Conduct audits, and take corrective action where appropriate to ensure effective implementation of this policy. We require that our suppliers, customers and visitors adhere to this policy at all times RESPONSIBILITIES Management (the supervisor and / or manager) is responsible for providing and maintaining: • a safe working environment • safe systems of work • facilities and equipment in safe condition • facilities for the welfare of all workers • any information, instruction, training and supervision needed to make sure that all workers are safe from injury and risks to their health • information, instruction, training and supervision that is reasonably necessary to ensure that each worker is safe from injury and risks to health • a commitment to consult and co-operate with workers in all matters relating to health and safety in the workplace • a commitment to continually improve our performance through effective safety management. Workers are responsible for: • ensuring their own personal health and safety, and that of others in the workplace • complying with any reasonable directions (such as safe work procedures, wearing personal protective equipment) given by management for health and safety • comply with safe work practices, with the intent of avoiding injury to themselves and others and damage to facilities and equipment • take reasonable care of the health and safety of themselves and others • wear personal protective equipment and clothing where necessary • comply with any direction given by management for health and safety • not misuse or interfere with anything provided for health and safety • report all accidents and incidents on the job immediately, no matter how trivial • report all known or observed hazards to their supervisor or manager.
