The movie Heneral Luna is about the life and how Heneral Antonio Luna saved our country
even if his friends are traitors. I became more aware that our country has a lot of hidden story
from the past. We thought things are right but the truth is the perception that we believe is
wrong. I also understand why Filipinos are greedy of power. Even in the past there is a thing
politics which many people killed someone just to maintain their power.
What I really like in the movie is that it tells the truth and what really happen in our country.
When I watched that I am somehow angry on the past presidents because some of them were
not that good model. This movie tells that in the past, if you are brave enough and you are in the
right path to fight for what is correct, others say that you are a traitor or you are being arrogant.
To see the film for the first time has driven me into this feeling of immense anger and sorrow for
our much-loved country. The fact that Filipinos themselves have killed our own fellowmen and
even the most capable hero in war, General Antonio Luna, made me realize to see humans, but
no humanity. Indeed, we had a greater foe than Americans, and that is ourselves. General
Luna's death was horrendous, and should always be acknowledged, in order to prove how
faithful he was towards the country. On the other hand, I am in love with the idea that there are
still patriotic Filipinos, who were able to create films like this, which signifies a slice of our
country's history and protest against cruel military actions. A huge thank you to Mr. Jerrold
Tarog, who is the director and of course, the artist who was able to teach us to fight for our
rights, be devoted to the country, and affirm the values of politically repressed people. This is
really a film that I will always look forward to, especially because of its beauty not to mention the
humorous script.
I really admire this movie because it is historical and it is very entertaining because despite of
the theme of the movie action-historical there is a little bit comedy. Actors and actresses are
very good in acting. I learned a lot and I realized that once in a life time there is a brave man
who fights for the justice of our country.
