Atlas Copco Tools and Assembly Systems Atlas Copco Tools and Assembly Systems Our history The rich history of Atlas Copco spans nearly 150 years. In that time, we’ve undergone quite the evolution to become the company that we are today. Born in 1873, Atlas Copco began as a local Swedish railway manufacturer. As the world changed around us, Atlas Copco had little issue adapting to keep up. In the time that we’ve been around, our company has gone from local to global, with sales in 180 countries around the world. Rune Zernell, Manager of the companty’s industrial design department, collaborated with medical experts in designing the new “33” series of hand tools, which was introduced in 1960. The concept “ergonomics” received increasing emphasis in the 1950’s and 1960’s. Industrial Technique Our vision as a company is simple: we want to be first in mind - first in choice for our Customers and stakeholders. As one of our four main business areas, Industrial Technique encompasses the Motor Vehicle Industry (MVI) and General Industry (GI), including aerospace, electronics, energy, offroad manufacturing, and various other industries.
