all kind of stress are bad?
Some kind of stress can
actually make a person
feel excited and motivated.
Our activity a while ago,
the Picture Analysis has
something to do with our
topic for today.
We can compare that those
two pictures have a lot of
differences.
They have the same
scenario but in coping and
handling stress they are
different with or without
the help of others.
D. Discussing New
Concepts and
Practicing New Skills
So, our topic for today is,
Mental and Emotional
Health: Stress, Distress,
and Eustress.
Now, in your own words,
what is stress?
Yes____________?
Sir, these are the things that can
make a person tired not just in
physical aspect but also mental
and emotional aspect.
Plan, manage and
implement
developmentally
sequenced teaching
and learning
processes to meet
curriculum
requirements and
varied teaching
contexts – Indicator

Very good. Stress can also
be defined as a state of
worry or mental tension
caused by a difficult
situation.
For you to understand
more about stress, please
read the definition.
Yes____________?
It is defined as the physical and
emotional responses to a
significant or unexpected change
or disruption in one’s life.
It may also refer to “what you
feel” when you react to pressure,
either from the outside world.
It can be either be negative or
positive.
Now, what do you call a
situation or event that
causes us to feel stressed.
Yes, _____________.
Sir, they are called stressors.
Very good. Please read
what is stressor.
Yes, _____________.
It refers to the things that makes
a person stressed.
There are two different kinds of
stress, the distress and eustress.
Just like what I said
earlier, not all kind of
stress are bad.
There are some stresses
that can really help us to
move forward and
fulfilling at the end.
Let us start with the
negative stress called
Distress, please read what
is Distress.
Yes, _____________.
It refers to a negative reaction of
the body towards a given
stressor.
It may cause problems in health,
alter the mood and emotions,
and even affect the way a person
thinks.
For example, when a
person woke up late for
work, he or she may feel
anger and disappointment.
Can you give another
example of Distress based
on your experience?
Apply knowledge of
content within and
across curriculum
teaching areas –
Indicator 1
Yes, _____________.
Sir, breaking up from a
relationship.
Very good, what else?
Yes, _____________.
Sir, when you got a failing grade
from your favorite subject.
That’s right, those are the
things that can make us
feel down and sad.
Now, let’s proceed to the
next type of stress and that
is Eustress. Please read.
Yes, _____________.
It refers to a positive and healthy
response of the body from a
stressor.
It produces good effects to one’s
well-being.
For example, a person,
who studied for long hours
then took and got an
outstanding grade in the
exam, may feel happiness
and enjoyment.
Apply knowledge of
content within and
across curriculum
teaching areas –
Indicator 1
This is what I am talking
about earlier, this type of
stress helps us to feel
motivated and excited.
Can you give another
example of Eustress based
on your experience?
Yes, _____________.

such as examinations for a day
or homework and participation
in school activities.
E. Developing Mastery

Yes, _____________.
Sir, getting a birthday surprise.
Very good. So, we learn
that not all kinds of stress
are negative, it can also be
positive that can really
help us to finish our daily
tasks with joy and
fulfillment.

lesson for today, class?

differences between
Eustress from Distress?

EMOTICONS is that you
will use those emoticons to
answer if the situation is
Eustress or Distress.

and when you hear the
word “GO”, you will race
here to the front and paste
your answer on the
blackboard.
3. The first to paste their
answer on the blackboard
gets 2 points, 1 point for
the other group if their
answer is correct, and 0 if
the answer is wrong.
3. The group who will get
the highest score will be
the winner of this game
and will be awarded with
additional 10 points.
Okay, are you ready class?
Yes, sir!
Let the game begin!
