express your point of view on a
certain topic and support it with
evidence.

achieve an effective argument,
you should have a clear opinion
statement.

OPINION?
♦ An opinion is a
statement of
judgment, view and
appraisal which has
been based on facts
EXAMPLES OF OPINION
Some people believe that there are some parts of the earth which
receives the same amount of sunlight.

FACT?
♦ It is a verifiable
statement.
♦ It can be proven
objectively by verified
observation or
results.
