5G in the oil and gas industry

The new phase of industrialization is upon us: industry 4.0.
The relevant 5G KPIs are depicted in the table
below
This will be achieved through the implementation of industrial
internet of things; safely powered by the novel 5G.
BACKGROUND: For many years, the oil and gas
industry has been collecting huge amounts of data
(e.g. one rig can generate 1 terabyte of data daily),
thus turning gradually to “data-centric operations.
Hence the need for its full automation.
METHODS
The required data were extracted after meticulous
analysis of the chosen papers. The flowchart
below summarizes the data selection process.
RESULTS
The review successfully answered the research
questions and also suggested ways to mitigate
QoS challenges.
