Do you keep your faith? Do you still exercise your faith? Will you faith depend on your emotions? Will your faith depend on your situation? Mark 5:21-42 21 When Jesus had again crossed over by boat to the other side of the lake, a large crowd gathered around him while he was by the lake. Jesus was famous during this time. TRENDING. 22 Then one of the synagogue leaders, named Jairus, came, and when he saw Jesus, he fell at his feet. 23 He pleaded earnestly with him, “My little daughter is dying. Please come and put your hands on her so that she will be healed and live.” 24 So Jesus went with him. Usahay, ing-ani ra kadali. Once you ask, the Lord will immediately answer. Jairus was in the first line, he was the priority among the crowd. A large crowd followed and pressed around him. 25 And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years. The story is connected. 26 She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse. 27 When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, Remember, Jairus was in a hurry. Number 1 in the priority line. He was the first one to get near to Jesus, and Jesus immediately responded to him. 28 because she thought, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.” 29 Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering. Jairus was in a hurry. He begged Jesus to go with him to heal his child. But someone else interrupted. Kana bitawng feeling nga ikaw nangalagad, ikaw pirme naa, gaserve ka sa worship team, gaattend kag mga activities pero nganong naa sa iyaha ang panalangin? Ngano man nga nabless man siya nga wala man unta siyay Ginoo? Ngano na successful man to? Wa gani to gasimba, wa gani to gafasting? RESUME ILLUSTRATION 30 At once Jesus realized that power had gone out from him. He turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who touched my clothes?” The chika started. 31 “You see the people crowding against you,” his disciples answered, “and yet you can ask, ‘Who touched me?’ ” The chika continues. RESUME ILLUSTRATION 32 But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it. 33 Then the woman, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell at his feet and, trembling with fear, told him the whole truth. 34 He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.” POINT NUMBER 1 DELAYS Jairus child was near to death. When there is a delay, do you still keep your faith? The tendency of us old Christians is that we believe that a certain thing will happen, God can do those things, but you can no longer see them happening to you. And that’s scary. That’s the effect of delay. This is a reminder today that GOD’S DELAY IS NOT A DENIAL. When there is a delay, do you still keep your faith? If you’re not done working, then I’m not done waiting. 35 While Jesus was still speaking, some people came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue leader. “Your daughter is dead,” they said. “Why bother the teacher anymore?” Imagine the reaction of Jairus POINT NUMBER 2 DEATH If there’s death, do you still keep the faith? Dead relationships, dead dreams, dead feelings, dead you. To the leaders; when you visit someone near to death, you pray for them, declare healing unto them, then they die. What would be your reaction? Lord, dili man unta to deliverance among giampo. Ngano nadeliver man? The feeings might be dead, the person might be dead but situation is still not dead! 36 Overhearing[c] what they said, Jesus told him, “Don’t be afraid; just believe.” While Jesus was having a chika with the lady he healed, did Jairus say something? Mireact ba siya? What did he do? He waited patiently. This is a reminder that sometimes, you don’t need to chika. You just have to be silent and let God do the movement! 37 He did not let anyone follow him except Peter, James and John the brother of James. What does this mean? In this world, if you wanna keep your faith, selecting your friends is very important. If you want keep your faith in reaching your dreams, naa kay mga dapat ibilin. DO NOT KEEP DREAM KILLERS! Katong mga Peter, James ug John sa imong kinabuhi mao toy angay ibilin. 38 When they came to the home of the synagogue leader, Jesus saw a commotion, with people crying and wailing loudly. 39 He went in and said to them, “Why all this commotion and wailing? The child is not dead but asleep.” Do you know what the revelation here is? This part of the scripture reveals that if Jesus is in the situation, you may think the situation is already dead, but actually it is just sleeping. You may think ah wala na ni, wa naniy pag-asa. Kulang ra diay tog hapak para mumata. Kulang rag fasting. Kulang rag ampo. Kulang rag devotional. Kulang rg tithes. Kulang ranag pukaw, natulog rana! 40 But they laughed at him. There are people in your lives who will comfort you in times of struggles. But then if you stand in your faith, they will laugh at you. POINT NUMBER 3 DISAPPOINTMENT Your own family might persecute you. Of all people, ngano imong family pajud? Sa tanang mupasakit nako ngano ikaw pa? Muabot ang time, mangluod naka. Tungod sa mga disappointments. In every disappointment, there is God’s divine appointment If you are disappointed because you were betrayed by your friends, remember that it’s the Lord’s way of redirecting you to the right people. After he put them all out, he took the child’s father and mother and the disciples who were with him, and went in where the child was. 41 He took her by the hand and said to her, “Talitha koum!” (which means “Little girl, I say to you, get up!”). ARISE. To keep your faith, you must ARISE. Bangon! Laban! 42 Immediately the girl stood up and began to walk around (she was twelve years old). At this they were completely astonished. Back to the lady who was healed of bleeding, that lady bled for 12 years. And this child, was also 12 years old. What a timing! The moment that lady started her suffering was the moment that the child was born. After 12 years, they received the same MIRACLE. They receive healing! Gitagbo sila sa Ginoo. Dini paedaray igsuon, patuohay! You may think na bag o paka, di paka ibless. That’s not the basis! What do you think was Jairus’ reaction? He was just silent the whole time. Ug nireklamo pato siya, ug naminaw pato siya sa miingon atong Di na samokon si Jesus kay patay na ang bata, what do you think will happen? Sometimes it’s better to keep silent and let God do the movement.
