Submission deadline - On or before April 4th 2023
Classify the beam below based on its determinacy. Then determine all the reactions in the beam.
A and B is a roller support and C is a hinge support while D is an internal hinge.
The simply supported beam is loaded as shown in figure below. A is a hinge support and C is a
roller support. Write the equation for shear force and bending moment between A and B in
terms of ‘x’. Select the origin at A.
Draw the shear and moment diagrams for the beam loaded as shown in figure below. Assume
the support at A is a roller and D is a hinge support. Clearly mark the distance to the point of zero
shear force and the maximum bending moment in the beam.

a roller support. Use Conjugate beam method
Determine the force in member CD and AC of the truss shown in figure by method of
sections. The section should pass through members ED, CD and AC
