The course aims to:
Research Methods
• define what research in general is
• introduce research in Engineering

• explain the use of literature review in research
• Suggest how to use time efficiently when one is engaged
in research

Semester Project
Requirements
A Project that:
•
Assessment/Evaluation & Grading System
• will require survey of current literature
– Project (30%),
• consists of carrying out a short research project throughout the
course time
– Assignments (10 %),
• Students need to identify a topic of their interest and write a
proposal (their thesis is advised)
– Final examination (60%)
•
The concept note is to be presented two weeks after the
commencement of the course
Attendance Requirements
– Minimum 75% lecture attendance
