(20%) Q1. Composition of gas in diesel engine after combustion engine is 5% oxygen, 20%
carbon dioxide, 15% water vapor, and remaining is nitrogen gas in volume. Temperature and
pressure of the gas is 1800K and 6 MPa. This gas is isentropically expanded to the
atmospheric pressure. Use air standard assumption.
a) Calculate the required properties of gas mixture (specific heats, gas
constant, etc.)
b) Calculate the power generated expansion for per kg of mixture.
c) What is the temperature of gas after the expansion process.
